The deal ended on September 17th...
Well, the ps3netsvr protocol supports file transfers in both directions (although webMAN is only using it as a read-only server).
A net client could be developed for Vita 2 Vita, but I don't find it very useful (due it's limited usage) if the development time could be invested better making a native FTP client for that purpose.
Although the psvita storage is very limited, a native ps3netsrv would help to stream the content stored in it (photos, videos, music, etc).
An alternative for that could be make a native DLNA server or even better porting Movian but the beauty of what I'm suggesting is that it is doable without the effort needed to create an application from scratch or the complexity of a mega application like Movian.
@aldostools, sounds like you are close to release on this am I right? Just messing with ya bud. I know you said you weren't interested in the vita scene, and didn't have the hardware. What if I were to donate one of my pstvs to you for development purposes. Would that light the fire to get you on board this train?
Thank you for the offer.... but I can't dedicate time to this.
bump, and id like to see a more streamlined ftp app for android specifically built to comunicate with the vita instead of having to use what works from the play store, @Joel16 are you planning on adding ftp functionality to your cyanogen mod for vita
I'm not too bothered with FTP since we have vita shell for that, but maybe in a future update I'll include it.
But with the initial release, it isn't a priority :p
Definitely a kodi port for the pstv would rock even though I have it on my MINIX a alternative would be good
I don't know how about kodi, but there is a rumor that Movian will be ported.
Someone asked Andreas Smas and he didn't quite turn it down.
Is there any estimate of a number of henkaku users?
For PS3 I dream of something which in real time showing Disc Hash Key and Secure File ID (and dump it already to dev_usb). Of course all from memory, I don't like idea to replacing some real modules on NAND/NOR just to dump some info. And of course with simple turn on/off in VSH menu.
In much wet dreams ;p, even app for full keys backup:
DHK and SFID (per game of course)
IDPS (I know... Rebug Toolbox have this)
OpenPSID (I know... Kakaroto ps3xtra can extract it from sysbup)
NP Account ID (I know... we can read it from xRegistry.sys)
ERK (I know... Rebug Toolbox have this)
ODD Key (only readable on 3.55 because no one care to write it to newer fw)
HDD and ENDEC Keys (I still don't understand how to generate them properly myself... for both environments: fats and slims)
This would be awesome to have it in *one* app, especially to call it on demand (so, no longer switching firmwares and thousands of applications).
For PSV I don't have an idea, as every research is on orphanage stage.
A new encryption section could be added to wm_vsh_menu to display and/or dump all the keys you mention..
Or a new webMAN-MOD page with appropriate commands... That would allow for managing keys from another device on the network, not just locally....
Oh my God, It was a contest? And I'm such late logged in. Thank You guys but I'm not using SEN anymore, so please, give it to next competitor (or keep for a prize in next contest). Oh, and thanks for votes, I appreciated!
Damn, @STLcardsWS. Can't seem to even give that game away. It's an absolute classic to. Im pulling for a vsh menu myself, don't know what options id like to see in it besides clock controls. Moving would be cool to.
A vsh_menu for Vita.
Including a file manager, game dumper, clock controls, maybe even a configurable ftp service, some kind of psnpatch-like implementation as well...
I can think of many features to put in there actually to get rid of certain apps altogether...
Yea I like Orion's toolbox, but seems it hasn't gotten any updates as f late. Would love t see a vsh, with psn patch like app, game dumper, like you said boogs take all existing apps and combine them into the vsh. Would that be hard once a menu like that exists, couldn't all those separate apps just be redirected to start from within the menu? I hope we get a menu so bad from this comp.
No generally speaking it would not be that hard at least for most mentioned features. It would require finding a willing dev with enough free time on his/her hands...
Adding features to an existing wm_vsh_menu is quite trivial (for a dev) as everything is already setup, the additional code already exists in one app or another & many of those apps are open source.
It would probably require porting some functions from ps3sdk to cellsdk but porting is not usually very difficult when it comes to snippets of code (porting entire projects is much more difficult depending on project complexity).
However some apps like psnpatch are not open source even though we know more or less everything the app does...
That is more of an obstacle though because without source, integration is not possible & one would have to reinvent the wheel to rewrite such a feature...
Maybe devs could be convinced to release their source eventually, even partially we would not be picky, knowing that fair credits are always given in the wMM project...
Maybe a homebrew where we will be able to copy normally files via usb without using any programs on pc(cma) or ftp.
You mean implementing a MTP server or Mass Storage as a plugin? To be able to connect like with a phone or tablet..?
ATM can't you use Windows Explorer as FTP client & create a network shortcut for the Vita connection? In practice, it works pretty much the same as MTP really.. That's what I use with the PS3...
It requires opening the ftp server on the Vita & it is not a plugin but what if it was? A ftp server plugin is always useful imho no matter what other option you may have...
With my phone for instance I never use USB to transfer files, even big files...
Separate names with a comma.
