Hi just saying hello the last console i modded was the original xbox I currently have a PS3 slim model CECH-2001B. A friend of mine mailed me a E3 NOR flasher and now I plan to downgrade mostly so I can play my old PS1 & PS2 Games (I have both consoles but they are broken). I hope to learn something new.

    Welcome on psx-place. :)

Not a best ps3 to downgrade for noob if you want to use clip, and get one with samsung NOR. But for sure is doable. :) Just remember if you get ANY SINGLE error during checking your dump, then not flash it back to PS3 (!), you can make it unrecoverable that way.

Is nice CFW feature to have all your retro games in one place. ;)

For sure you will learn something new here! :)

Unfortunately there is not an alternative clip for that. It can be used pretty easily especially if the first time but you may have to trim back some of the plastic as he said and I would put a clamp on it to ensure its seats properly. And make sure you apply even pressure to both sides when pressing down also if you do choose to use the clamp method make sure that you put something on top of the top and bottom to ensure you don't damage the board. But if you can return it I would suggest getting a 360 clip and teensy++. Much higher build quality as the E3 literally feels like it's going to fall apart even upon your first use. Mine when I first got it door for the SD card fell off the first time. I later switched to the teensy setup and it was much easier to use it can also be used on any type of console whether it be a fat or a slim and other type of flash memory. And for a few dollars you can have one of these fabricated which I have done myself and can attest to it just being an amazing product.

Everything so much neater and clean I have one that is permanently installed on my b - 01 model and simply love it. One day when I get the money I will replace my Slim's flasher with the exact same setup but if needed I can use this on the other one as well
