I've been busy searching if it's possible to play online games with CFW console. I haven't done the hack yet. Honestly I was not even aware of all those good homebrews I can get, but mostly I use my console for watching Netflix, Hulu and play Call of Duty Balck Ops 1.
As of right now, I learned that I can use PSN Patch & PSNinja, but some people reported that they've been caught and banned.
Is there a way for this?

    Appreciate all you help

There is no sure way to avoid a ban except to keep your CFW ps3 offline, To give yourself the best chance of avoiding a ban learn how to use PSNpatch properly and make sure not to mod games online/cheat (forget about psninja, its outdated and will not help you).

You can get versions of some apps that are patched to allow access without PSN so if you do get banned you could still use those http://www.psx-place.com/threads/co...d-for-nopsn-access-quick-download-list.14565/ .

Note that COD games are some of the worst for cheating, and so they are also the games with the most chance of getting banned, you can get "anti-ban" eboots that might help some bit but nothing is certain.

Thanks for the clarification. How do I get the eboot? Is it a file that needs to be edited?
Thank you for that link. It got a lot of apps.

I don't know where to get them, you will most likely need different antiban eboots depending on your disk region and possibly game edition/update version. The eboot is like the main exe for the game, and the official eboot has some extra checks in it compared to other games, those checks look for homebrew apps on your HDD etc. The antiban eboot will have those checks removed, it will not help you if you cheat and other users report you though.

IMO If you are new to CFW terms/plugins/PSN stealth, and playing COD online is one of the main things you do, there is probably a good chance of getting banned, so be prepared for that.

It all really depends on what cod you are playing. Obviously if you are in any multiplayer match no matter how old the cod game is you can be reported by another user. I have modded bl ops 1 zombies for years now only using psnpatch before signing onto the network. Heres the thing though, i only play with a select group of friends on my friends list who i know can be trusted. You can do what devil said and use an antiban eboot for cod bl ops 2 and up, but you are taking a risk that will get you banned eventually no matter how careful you are. Just dont abuse the multiplayer lobbies and only play private matches with trusted friends, no one else and you will be fine. I have been doing this with no ban for many years now. Im still using my original idps. Make sure you use a dummy account just in case you catch a ban that way you dont lose purchases.

The only game I actually enjoy is BO1. I do have all COD games, but bo1 is my favorite as it still looks like a game rather than reality sort of thing. Anyway, I am not planning on doing the what they call god mode classes, so why other player report me if I play a legit game?

Also, do I have to remove the hdd from ps3 and connect it to a pc to get the eboot file?

you should be able to ftp the eboot over, but you'll have to get that elsewhere. the original eboot scans for specific folders on the hdd. I think gta 5 does the same thing. I wouldn't play either online even with the modded eboots.

there's no guarantee that you won't be banned. I got banned even though I don't even play online. if you look at psdevwiki, it mentions that processes are recorded to the profile folder. that would include psnpatch I believe, so I'd recommend not even playing online.
