Hi all, I have got a PS4 controller on hand which must be a very early version of the JDS-001.

The problem is that, it will not respond neither charge or sync with the PS4 nor a PC.

I found that the cable connecting the usb board with the main board was having a cut line, so I replaced with another 12 pin cable. But, still no response, nothing at all. I have changed the usb with a known working jds-001 but still no luck.

I do not have another board like this, neither seen any like this before. Does any of the components missing? There are fuses I should check? Where?

If anyone could post a photo of his same version board to compare? Or any idea of what else I should try?

Looking forward to a reply. Any help is welcome. [IMG]

I had / have pretty much the same issue with a ds3 controller.
I changed batteries with a fully working one.
Both controllers worked fine after that (even charging).
But after a couple of months the same controller had the same issue again....
Makes me think if I disconnect the battery for a while and connect it back, it might be working again.... For a while...

Have you tried a different battery?

Apparently it is not the battery. I used a known good battery but not firing up. Also checked with multimeter, there is 3.7v on the battery socket, that confirms that the usb and the flat cable are working and battery charging. But, nothing else.

I managed to measure the D15, the diode, and measures at 2.80nf. Can anyone confirm that this is correct value? What else could be burned and need to replace?

Ok, I have put newer version battery and it works now. I do not know why, but it does. The battery it had originally works on the jds-011 version flawlessly. I hope I helped with people having same issue.

Yeah that's odd, but I forgot to mention: my ds3 controllers are different models as well xD
I was thinking maybe the battery just needs to be disconnected for a few minutes o_O
