hi, I have a psone that did not have a transformer and I had to buy one. According to the one I bought, it was the one in Europe that supports 220v but the one that came to me was the USA of 110v. talk to the buyer and tell me that the transformer if it works on 220v, on Youtube there is a video of the same transformer connected to 220v and it works however I do not want to connect it for fear of losing the right to claim my money. im from Argentina.

On power supply sticker should be "yellow line". There you can find possible AC input. If it say something like 100v-240v, is ok. But if it say 220v - 240v then it is 220v only.

no, the ac adapter in input says: ac 120v 0.37A 60hz. in Argentina 220v 50hz is used (bad SCEAal do not distribute the ac adapter corresponding to the voltage of each country), but here the doubt, talking to the seller says that if it works if I connect directly, and a video on YouTube in the that use the same ac adapter connected to 220v and 50hz.

I would place the video but I think it is not allowed in the forum, the ac adapter is the SCPH-113.

Are you sure that is should be transformer not power pack\Power Supply\AC Adaptor?
    Transformer only change AC-AC Volts
    e.g.:
    input: ~220-240V 50 Hz
    output: ~24V 50 Hz (50-200W)
Frequency (Hz) must be also the same.

    Power pack\Power Supply\AC Adaptor should change AC-DC
    e.g.:
    input: ~100-240 1.5 A 50-60Hz
    output: -8.5V --- 6.65 A

    AC - alternating current
    DC - direct current

E.g. PS2 slim AC Adaptor can handle all range of power supply:
    https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/3TUAAOxyuR5TZzKt/s-l1600.jpg.
so you can use it everywhere.

yes, the ac adapter is the original that of america, the code is the SCPH 113, input: 120v 60hz output 7.5v 2.0A. the question is if I can connect to 220v 50hz the seller and the YouTube video put me in doubt. I do not want to lose the opportunity to get my money back if the ac adapter is damaged when connected to 220v.

    This AC adaptor:
    will not handle ~220V 50hz.
It only supports ~120V 60Hz input.

BTW are you sure that Argentina have ~220V 50Hz not ~230V 50Hz?

    To be add.
    Built-in AC-Adaptor in FAT PS2 supports e.g. only ~220-240V.
It will not work\can damage device when it will be plugged in into ~110V 60 Hz.

yes, that is the ac adapter, but talking to the seller says that before sending it I try it on the net and on his psone, and the video gives me doubts, in Argentina 220v 50hz is used, as in Chile (country where he made the Youtube video, you can find it looking for SCPH 113 220v).

Are you sure that it is SCPH-113 not SCPH-114?
    Because SCPH-114 supports:
    • Input: ~220-240V, 50-60Hz
    • Output: -7.5V - 2000mA
    [IMG]

    BTW plug is also different.

Test the transformer at 220v and it works. Maybe this is the beginning of multivoltage sources. the scph is the 113. I'm sure.

That is something new for me.

Manufacturers always warns about not to plug in devices into different\not supported Volts\Hertz,
which may cause damage of the device.

BTW it is not a transformer, as I mention before.

In one of the PS3 PSU models happens the same, is labeled as 120v but works on 220v. This is not usual though so dont take it as a general rule for other adapters or transformers

Of course, in no way should other electronic devices of type 110v to 220 be placed. I had a ps1 7501 of 110v, I confused it with my other ps1 of 220v connected to the electrical network and the break in the psu was instantaneous. I'm sorry, jolek, maybe it's a translation error of mine because I use the google translator. haha

For best results you can use your native language and add (Google, DeepL, etc) translation.

Anyway, here is more technical knowledge what is:

BTW does in Spanish "adaptador de ca" means "AC adapter"?
