but how can i use them? go were?
how to transfer games from usb to hdd?
they'll appear on the hdd by default. the apps will appear in the games tier (below the bd disc portion). u can sort "date created" content by pressing square I believe. it might be triangle - it's been ages since I've done so.
im really dumb.
so i insert the usb with the rebug and all thing in to ps3 then in game tier they will appear right?
yes. you mean ..pkg right? if you mean update, it's PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP in all caps. install via the xmb or the recovery menu. I'd suggest the xmb though to avoid accidental ofw updates.
so let me recapitulate...
on the usb i have a folder PS3,on that folder another one UPDATE with al the pkg files right?
then go to xmb at game icon and with triangle or circle install it is that it?
almost 40 year and learning lol
no, I thought you might be updating. for pkg files. place them in the packages folder on the root of the usb drive. don't use an hdd for this.
i tell you what i need :
im on 4.75cex cobra 7.2 and broken bd drive.
i just need to transfer from usb to hdd some games for my children
but i read i have to have multiman and rebug tool box right?
so guys..im sad to say but i give up...e will pay someone to do it for me
i´ve gone to xmb on game icon found usb drive but nothing... i give up
thanks all for your help
what resources you have are very limited, you need to give it time for us to help. you only sign on while at work from what I understand and can only download from work, right? I told you to convert from DEX to CEX which apparently you did because now your on 4.75 Rebug? What happened to wanting to be on latest CFW, sounds like you downgraded?
i friend, i downloaded the link you gave me, put it on a usb and nothing...wont appear on xmb...then e restored the siystem and got 4.75 without nowing.
last night e tried what pinky said but still nothing on the xmb via usb...
tried to upgrade via internet an wont let me 80029cca and 80028f14 other way i dont remenber... ;(
i pay via paypal for an hole link with all thins needed if possible,.
all the files gathered to just download
The error you get when trying to update via internet is there on purpose.
Because if you update via internet you'd end up with ofw.
All you need to do is:
1. download the latest cfw from rebug.me
(You'll actually download a txt file with the link to the cfw)
2. Rename the .pup file to PS3UPDAT.PUP
3. Format a USB thumb drive to fat32
4. Create a folder on the thumb drives root called PS3
5. Enter that folder and create another folder called UPDATE
6. Enter that folder and copy the PS3UPDAT.PUP here
7. Connect the thumb drive to your ps3 and update via storage (I prefer doing that from xmb).
Now you should be on rebug 4.82.
I'd suggest to install rebug toolbox, enter it and enable cobra
Edit: the thumb drives folder structure and filename is case sensitive.
The full path to the PUP on the drive is:
thank lord...i´ve downloaded this link...https://rebug.me/official-rebug-4-81-2-cobra-7-5-toolbox-2-02-12-jan-10th-2017/
and several like multiman and etc......
i plug it to the ps3 but then i cant find the files.....i find the usb ind xmb but not the files
i have this on my pen in fat32....
i done it...renamed that pup file....wen a get home i´ll try... thanks
Wow, let's not rush it...
The file structure looks correct for the PS3UPDAT.PUP.
The .pkg files should be stored in the root though.
But that's not a problem for the update process...
Are you sure it's formated as fat32?
the pkg not in update file? just normal? i´ll try wen home.
can i ask you how after all ok how to transfer games from usb to hdd?
1. Correct, the only file in the UPDATE folder should be the PUP.
2. I believe the pkgs could be in /packages/ but I know for sure they are installable in the root (that's what I always used, eg /multiman.pkg
3. You can use multimans build in file manager to copy from USB to HDD.
If you have .iso put them in /dev_hdd0/PS3ISO/ if you have jb format games put them in /dev_hdd0/GAMES.
You can also copy your pkgs to /dev_hdd0/packages if you like to keep the installation files on the internal HDD
i will try all this wen get home... lets us pray lol
packages may go on the root. it's been over a year since I installed one. lol you can check for sure in the category_game.xml located here: dev_blind/vsh/resource/explore/xmb .
if you're using Rebug it can be root (Standard location) or packages folder both choices are in ★Package Manager
got multiman installed, now only missing a game... can i download trhough ps3?
