This is the guide I used...https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/13144/snes-msu-1-guide

I can get into more detail, but here is the basis of what you need to do...

    1. Get the MSU-1 patch file. romhacking.net is a good place to start.

    2. Get the rom file referenced in the patch - you won't find them at the site listed above, it's not a rom site. Make sure to read the readme with the patch - I can not stress this enough!

    3. Patch the rom with the patch. This is probably the most confusing part - SNES roms are particularly tricky because of headers. Patch a headered rom with a patch intended for a header-less rom (or vice-versa), and it won't work. You may need a tool to check, then add/remove the header. Tools and info are available at the site listed above.

    Other patching notes...

    - Generally, .sfc roms are header-less, while .smc ones have headers - but don't rely on this!

    - The Zelda 3 MSU-1 patch (and maybe others) require the rom to be expanded before patching (there's a tool for that).

    4. Get the MSU-1 files for your rom. There should be a link(s) in the patch's readme (did I mention read this file? :) )

    5. For each MSU-1 game, make a folder and put the patched rom and the assorted MSU-1 files in there, using the following format...

gamename.sfc (or .smc - the patched rom)
    gamename.msu (might be a huge file, or a zero-length file - DON'T DELETE!)
    gamename-1.pcm (music track)
    gamename-2.pcm (music track)
    ...etc.

XML and BML files are for other emulators - don't put them in the folder.

    6. Run the .sfc/.smc file with Snes9x like any other rom. If everything is set up correctly, prepare to be amazed.

I post this in the tutorial thread yesterday and so maybe I'll get help putting it here too..

Is pce fast still broken with cd rom games? I haven't been able to run this in a year..
It used to play Dracula X english patched just fine... I have the syscard3 in both the system and roms folder.
The cue structure is correct too. Sega cd runs fine but this.. What gives?

I own the real syscard 3. my grandfather owned the turbo grafx cd system which I inherited from him when he passed. I had to buy that card in order to play ys iv which I own. I had the original 1.0 for ys book 1 and 2, but if you try to use 1.0 with ys iv, you're presented with an anime screen saying that the game can't be run. lol

Tried a few more MSU-1 games - Mario Kart, Mario World, Metroid, Killer Instinct all work. One small issue - if you are playing a MSU-1 game, and want to play another, close the content (via the Quick Menu), then reload the Snes9x core. If you just close the content and load the new game, it'll crash the PS3.

@Ezio is it possible to port another Commodore cores, like [VICE C-128, VICE PLUS/4, VICE VIC-20] to RA PS3 ??

    - Can you port [Amstrad CPC] core too ?

Dont forget ZX spectrum to complete the 8-bits familly :)

They are trying it, but asking for it is not going to help
If i remember right... zar made some changes in the source code of fuse and caprice that allowed him to compile them (previouslly was refusing to be compiled)... but they boots to a black screen :(
So it looks like there are still some more errors in the code... and maybe is related with both emus
    With commodore i dont remember

(in the SNES9X core, not final so may tweak it some yet (and add some additional sources))

There're some cores not included in the extended version (4do, cap32, crocods, desmume, fuse, gpsp) since they gives black screen, but you never know, maybe it needs to be set correctly (see bios and other config settings),
The only reason about fuse not working is imho related to big endian issues, it needs further check.
For dosbox, @JediKnight007 could be right, it could give black screen for another big endian issue, i saw some missing flags on makefile of the core that are instead correctly set for wiiu. (I use wii/wiiu like examples since they're other big endian machines such as ps3).

It happens because the retroarch leader developer wants an unique code working for every port, while here it needs something specific for ps3. And yes, we can use overlay-borders also on ps3, modifying the code on the main repo too.

Found a site with a ton of MSU-1 info - patches and PCM (music) sets; a number of games have multiple music sets (remixes, etc.) available.
Unfortunately, there are several links with pre-patched roms (a BIG no-no in the rom hacking community), so I can't link to it. They have the same rules as here regarding roms - somebody must be asleep over there. :)

So, I have compiled a list of all known MSU-1 games (around 90, though some may be a WIP). Simply do a web search for "gamename msu-1 patch", and you should find what you're looking for. Perhaps @STLcardsWS can link to this in his guide.
