    Didn't they release patches to fix the SMB vulnerability? So there shouldn't be a need to disable it anymore, right? Although I do agree that it stands to be phased out because it is obsolete.

    Microsoft did make the specifications available, so it is probably just a matter of whether anybody will be willing to update SMBMAN to support this newer protocol.

    But first, somebody might want to consider getting SMS to work with the PS2SDK SMBMAN module, if one wants to replace the SMSMB module.

    Different-Method Workaround ( its totally not the same as what we are trying to do, BUT ):

    :eek: Works on Win7. :D

    =======================================================================
    Code:
    ===== SMS MEDIA SHARING = FROM WINDOWS-PC LAN (non-SMB-method) =====

    -----Steps:

    Turn on PS2.
    (power ON lol)

    Launch SMS.
    (on PS2)

    Navigate To Network Settings.
    (in SMS)

    Network Protcol = ps2dev/host.
    (in SMS)

    Save Settings.
    (in SMS)

    Turn off PS2.
    (power OFF lol)

    Start Rad Host Client 1.8a.
    (on PC)

    Add your PS2s IP.
    (in the upper-box of RHC)

    NOTE: The most-likely PS2-IP.
    192.168.0.10

    Drop whatever folder(s) you are trying to share.
    (in the lower-box of RHC)

    Close RHC.
    (so it will save your settings on PC)

    Create a "SHORTCUT" to RHCs permanent location.
    (on PC)

    Right-click the RHC-Shortcut.
    (on PC)

    Left-click Properties.
    (in context-menu/drop-down-list on PC)

    Change "Run = Normal window" to "Run = Minimized".
    (in RHC-Properties on PC)

    Left-click "OK".
    (in RHC-Properties on PC)

    Drop the RHC-Shortcut in your Startup-Folder.
    (Start-Button > Programs > Startup on PC)

    Reboot PC.
    (after reboot = RHC should already be running)

    Turn on PS2.
    (power ON lol)

    Launch SMS.
    (on PS2)

    Shared-Files should now appear in your Available-Media-List.
    (in SMS)

    -----IMPORTANT NOTE:
    There will be an " R " ICON added to your Notification-Icons.
    (bottom-right in Taskbar/Toolbar on PC)

    Icon will stay RED when its NOT-connected to PS2.
    Icon will turn GREEN when it IS-connected to PS2.

    -----Enjoy!

    =======================================================================

    The above steps were short and sweet earlier today, but I made it quite a bit more noob-friendly (to save tons of future questions from needing answering = LMAO !!).

    =======================================================================

    Similar to what we are trying to accomplish, in this thread, with the most-simple way I could think of. :)

    It may be a corny-workaround ( I KNOW :-p LOL ), and not what we are trying to fix exactly, BUT it IS functional. ;)
    So, until someone fixes this mess ( DEVS WANTED !!! ), I hope someone enjoys this simple-method in the mean time. :) :cool:

    I havent figured out where RHC stores its settings yet (ANYONE ???).
    Registry perhaps ( I think ? ) ?

    Just wasted another two days trying to get the SMB shares working. :(
    Project Status = FAIL ( still :( ).
    I digress, this project is for someone far better than I. :(

    :eek:
    Two more mini-projects to add to the list I guess.
    $#!+
    We need an SMS-Dev BAD !
