Now I wonder if you can actually go below 2.70?
8th byte is 0C, so i just changed the 8th byte only a few times to see what would happen and sure enough the minver changed each time
I would say possibly given these results...
But like zeco reminded me there is the hardware compatibility to take into consideration. Even if you could install lower, would lv0 & lv1 actually work? Unlikely after a certain fw revision.
Right. Spoofing it to say something other than it is, is one thing. But metldr & bootldr are still the same.
That is the ps3 model & 0C is for a CECH-30xx.
I bet changing it in IDPS will allow lower than min version to install, instead of getting an error code. But will just brick.
Yep on metldr2 it's useless.
On CFW compatibles, some lower fw may work, fully or partially, but I doubt you can go much lower anyway.
If anyone tries, you better have a flasher ready & an original backup. Lol
Something I thought was interesting was that when I set my model# to a NAND# on my slim it will only go down to 1.97, the lowest firmware for a NOR model.
Right? Same here
If I wasn't so lazy I'd hook up my flasher & give it a try lol
If nobody else tries in the next few days I'll go ahead & give it a shot.
My PS3 is apart and need to finish soldering the other half of 50 wires to it. Was motivated one night to set it up like this: http://www.psx-place.com/threads/my_ps3-slim-e3-flasher-mod.12269/ But never finished. LOL. I need to get motivated again.
well hurry up you can do mine next
Consensus here is I bought I PS3 from the pawnshop that had already IDPS spoofed and then updated to OFW to make like it was never jailbroke
further thought makes me think I could have been banned recently possibly because maybe my console wasn't the only one with this IDPS
several numbers in the ipds are unknown, so maybe one of them relates to the minimum firmware version?
Changing just the 8th byte (IDPS/Taget_ID) changes the MinVer so I'm thinking this is the only number that tells the current FW what the MinVer is, does anybody know where CFW Tools (xia_plugin) looks to find MinVer @bguerville
i just redumped the IDPS and PSID from 4201A Superslim with minver 4.40. ill spoof 2501A with it and check minver pup. doing the reverse...well, not yet! haha
i also have dump from E01 i can try using IDPS/PSID on 2501A and check minver
IDPSet 0.6.2 say IDPS invalid! 84 00 12 is superslim, it wont go past 84 00 0E.
i can enter all other numbers! model type according to PSDevWiki
when i tried with 3001 ID before, that worked
I tried a K01 IDPS on the 2001a and it gave me 1.97 MinVer
hell yeah! sounds like a bug? lol
im about to try E01 spoofing to 2501A...and i may also have an A01 somewhere
UPDATE: i only spoofed IDPS as i dont have PSID, but minver still says 3.50 with E01 IDPS
xai_plugin uses syscall 863 to get the minimum applicable firmware version.
Just like MinVerChk I assume.
