The original code was to decrypt the existing encrypted modules on the fly, that was why you needed to place external key files on the root of USB to decrypt them due to avoiding legal licensing issues.

However deank added decrypted modules from 4.81 CEX OFW, and added the detection for DEX and installing basic LV1 and LV2 patches used for backup managers [MultiMAN and IRISMAN]

I'm passionate about my Sony stuff. Besides my Sega stuff it's the only system I have. Though TBH I never really played the PS1 or PS2 till Microjunk screwed me over with the 360. But tbh I never see it as I am mobile 98℅ of the time. Speaking of which I need to update my system specs lol After ARK became usable on 3.63 I updated one PSTV and one Vita to 3.63 to get PS+ back. I made the id.dat read only so I can start a PS+ download on them then switch back to my hacked systems to resume the download, back it up on QCMA to bypass the need for a PS3

    Which offsets do you need?

Simple resigning of a tool that depends on firmware functions/offsets does nothing. Adding firmware detection and patching lv1 (for ss services) and lv2 (for direct disc access) allows sacd ripper (and mM and other tools) to access non-BD discs.

@Joonie: If you think that the lv2 pokes are causing the issue - I'll remove them. But it will require that these syscalls are installed (lv1 peek/poke).

@baileyscream: I'm glad that you got sacd-ripper working on newer firmware. I'm not quire sure, but I believe in cobra mode it may have troubles, but on clean CEX it should work.

Most 4.30 CFWs and higher do have lv1 peek/poke (sc 8/9) as well as lv2 peek/poke (sc6/7) so I think it'd be ok, although I don't understand why installing syscalls causing issue when multiman works fine with it.

His test result was successful after removing that code for installing syscall 6/7/8/9/10.

Did you compile sacd with the sdk+source that I sent to you the other day?

If so, I'll just replace the .pkg on my server with the one you compiled. Does it contain the decoded spu modules?

Nice, I updated the .pkg on mM's server, so the link will point to the working version. Thanks :)

If you wish - upload the source code with the changes.

I don't have my PS3 yet. May be in few weeks I'll get it back and I'll give it a try.

I was very interested in SACD's back in the later 2000's but forgot about the format when it died and I never had any equipment that could read the discs. Now i've come to find out my lovely CECHB-01 has the capability to play these! Looking to purchase some SACD's on Amazon/eBay and will test out the ripper soon. You guys are awesome @Joonie @deank @baileyscream @Zar

This might be a noob question but can you mount an SACD ISO on a CFW PS3?

We can't mount a normal CD image so I doubt it. Always wondered if that would ever be implemented but audio can be made so much smaller with little to no quality loss so normal disc would be kinda useless. But then again I don't know about these I haven't had any time to play around with it all I did was FTP over the PKG

If you can bear with me I'm just doing some sorting / cleaning of files on my pc (have stuff all over) and I'm also checking to see if this ripper works on a few 4.81 firmwares without ever installing toolbox or multiman after now resetting and formatting this ps3

Once done I will see if webman / multiman / movian can mount or play the ripped ISO but as atreyu187 has said I don't think it can be done as yet

Sacd-Ripper has nothing to do with multiman or toolbox, don't worry it will work out of the box

I think it didn't work when I tried it last time, however you can try playing it on PC with foobar2000

I found some "test" SACD ISO's on usenet that I was hoping I could try to play on the PS3. I can always convert them to FLAC but my light reading on the subject suggested that the difference in audio quality between the SACD files and FLAC conversions are night & day but i'm no audiophile so i'm not sure if it will be noticeable until I try it out!
