I modified my Slim PS3 to Rebug using Xploit 2.0 in December time, I wanted to try HAN , but the default guide for Xploit 3.0 isn't working for me?

Do I have to install it a different way because I'm already on CFW?

Please review this first post in this thread.
CFW vs HAN (it will explain the difference between the two)
    http://www.psx-place.com/threads/hacking-the-ps3.10718/

If you can install CFW on your console there is ABSOLUTELY no point in trying HAN
HAN does not contain near the features or functionality that CFW can do.

    PS3Xploit v3.0 is not a progression of v2.0 .
If your console is comptable with 2.0 then that is all you need.
if not then v3.0 (HAN) allows for a few features and those have limitations..

Hello and thank you very much for your detailed reply

I understand that 3.0 isn't needed and is a lesser workaround for newer models

I'm using the PS3 casually anyway , so want to try HAN

But I cant get the install to work , have reformatted , redownlloaded etc

Can load up webpage, do the initialisation, but second part the PS3 just freezes

As you are on Rebug you would need to use DEX xploits, but anyway, you should not install HAN files on CFW, you will basically be removing functions from your CFW by installing the HAN files. Also you do not need to enable HAN on Rebug 4.82.2 as it already is patched to allow HAN resigned pkgs to install. Basically you can do HAN stuff on Rebug 4.82.2 without using any of the web xploits, don't use HAN installer OR HAN enabler on Rebug 4.82.2, it will make no difference except to remove some patches and probably also break Cobra.

If you really want to experience HAN, you would be better off installing a dualboot CFW, that is CFW with only the bare minimum of patches that will allow CFW to install over it again, in all other ways its acts like OFW. If you install that then you can see how much extra hassle HAN is compared to CFW, as you will have no homebrew, no plugins etc. Then you could use the web xploits the way they are meant to be used (without ticking DEX box). TBH there is no point though, you can just follow the pkg conversion guides for HAN and use them on Rebug 4.82.2 natively..
