The file manager for the PlayStation 2 that keep evolving as developer's are still keeping the legacy of the PS2 going. Developer's @sp193 & AKuHAK have taking over a new unofficial fork of the project titled wLaunchELF, which is a progression of the first unofficial build (uLaunchELF) and the original build of LaunchELF. this project spans many years and seen various developer's input and work within the projectover the years, Here we are not even midway in 2017 and we seen the 2nd update already to this very functional file manager for your Homebrew Enabled PS2 Console. The PS2 Homebrew Community is still doing some great things and progressing things very well with various improvements such as this file manager that keeps getting better through time and dedicated developers..
I noticed that last month PS2 developer danielb updated OPL Manager to v18, This PC Utility is a great tool for maximizing your Game Library for OPL (Open Ps2 Loader). Various features will allow you to manage things such as fixing / changing ISO file names, Downloading Game Covers, Disc Covers & ScreenShots (in batch or individual), Edit Cheat files and various other functions In v18 the dev has done alot since the previous update of v17, OPL Simulator is a new feature that is now accessible in the "Tools Menu" and its purpose is to emulate OPL on the PC, Splines of game covers now have support alot of other additions and improvements can be seen listed in the v18 Release Notes
PlayStation 2 developer @sp193 dropped by the psx-place forums to let us know of the latest update to HDLGameInstaller, with the release of version 0.810 the developer has improved realiablity of network support, new support for compress has been a couple of the changes outlined in the changelog, plus the included PC client (HDLGManClient) see some changes as well in v0.810, view those details and features provided below, for project history & additional details visit the source link to the developer's project page. As i have mentioned previously in the Ps2ident news, the PlayStation 2 community is still very active these days and more proof of that arises as developer nokiajavi has updated Android version of Jlojch to version 2.13. With this ps2 utility you can see the list of games comparability with HDLoader, USBetreme, ESR, Open PS2 Loader & PCSx2. PlayStation 2 developer @sp193 did not just provide a recent update to the PS2 HDD Checker but also the PlayStation 2 Identification Tool (PS2Ident). This app works by dumping the PS2 ROM chips and MECHACON NVRAM and takes that data to identify different aspects about your console. Another great tool and update from the PS2 Community that is still very much active in 2017.​
PS2 developer @sp193 who is one of the driving forces behind PS2 development and responsible for many contributions in the PS2 community, now has an update to one of the devs popular utility for the PlayStation 2. The PS2 Development continues as Maximus32 has released Ps2Linux v3.8 , this updates provides a number of changes and improvements such as ethernet speed improvements along with MAC spoofing ablities. Also new changes that have been made to the 3.8 kernel are also back-ported to the 2.6 kernel. Plus additional changes to this recent update to Ps2Linux .​
