    GENERAL Tip's & Task to perform before a CFW Install:
    • MAKE SURE THERE IS NO GAME DISC INSIDE THE CONSOLE
    • UN-MOUNT actual game.This really important for example, cobra systems with webMAN, because webMAN mounts last played game on boot. If an Update folder exist in that game. It will install the official firmware
    • ALWAYS verify the PUP's MD5 checksum. (see tut)
    • Disable any Spoofs
    • If you do not own a HARDWARE FLASHER or have the means to recover from a possiable brick. DO NOT RUSH to install a CFW / MFW Release. Allow the community to conduct test as some CFW do not get proper testing and even ones that do some models can act differenly so its best to give it at least a 3 day wait. Usually brick reports happen the first 24-48 Hours.
    • Turn off internet connections when updating CFW's.( Wifi and Ethernet cable.)
    • It's good practice to QA Flag your console. before installing a new CFW.
    • Always a good idea to dump your eid_root_key
    • Can be useful to take 1 or 2 dumps of you flash after a successful upgrade.
    • Backup your Game Saves and edat/rif files to a pendrive, external HDD or FTP to PC.
    USE ANY CFW/APP AT YOUR RISK


    (Note: Not all Apps / Utilities/ Tools need updated for firmware support, however some utilities need to be update for each firmware release. This is a list of app that have been updated to work on 4.78.)

    Here is my Unofficial Rebug updater on testing, maybe could help some of you
    PS3 Extranet portal => Activate/desactivate PS3 EXTRANET acces (easily download and update homebrews from PS3)
    PS3 Settings options => Install/Uninstall PS3 Settings options by Mysis
    Spoof 4.78 REX ONLY => Spoof REBUG REX 4.46, 4.65, 4.70, 4.75, 4.76 by ARCH
    Update to Cobra 7.20 => Updates for REBUG REX/D-REX 4.65, 4.70, 4.75, 4.76 by Joonie
    Update webMAN MOD => Update webMAN stable or test build versions by Aldo & Matsuuu

    Installer is from Team XMBM+ by Bitsbubba

    Swizzy already commited the 486 build to try to solve it. Seems it has not been enough : https://github.com/Swizzy/PS3DumpChecker/commit/5c9aae75e3a75f8ab6c745463e338682de0fe076

    It's certainly due to the fact the updater.exe sub-program is included and access to the web (github repo) to check updates. And, maybe, this subprogram or fonctions are used or have been used by some malware programer as the sources are public.
    AV/AM are more and more paranoid...

    Anyway, full sources are available on github, updater as well. So everybody can check to verify that there are not malicious.

    I have the same kind of issue with my way-launchers gui that include some .exe into the main exe.

    I will jailbreak my ps3 and i have 1 question. after downgrade it, if i install PLAYERKP420 4.78 v1.00 CFW i can play online after that?

    Additionally install psn patch or sen enabler (read about usage before you run them). And then you can go online.

    Rebug + webMAM mod works perfect...

    Anyone try'd recording video with webman? SELECT + R3

    I get a crashed every time and firmware wants to get rebuild...
