I have started a new project called Sedan.
    A CFW for 4.85 CEX.

Currently is not available for the public.
    Here's the ugly logo.

    tex_psn.png

    SedanFiles.PNG

    Tools used:
    1. PUAD GUI (fixed version)
    2. HxD Editor 2009
    3. scetool
    4. A Lv0 Patcher
    5. RCOmage
    6. Photoshop CS6

    I will use more tools.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    IMPORTANT SECTION:

So, I have finished the CFW, but isn't released. We need to test for any issues before publising.
Then some people asked to help, is in the credits section.
I will give them the PUP file, and let's watch for any issues.

If you want to help & test, PM me.

    -----------

Things you need to be tester:

    1. Some PS3, Fat or Slim (with one PS3 it's okay)
    2. An E3 Flasher (it's okay if you want your PS3 bricked)

    --i don't have money for buy a ps3 lol
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------
    - Sedan 4.85 Features

    - Built from 4.85 OFW (obviously)
    - NOT built with MFW-builder! (lol)
    - LV0- All security checks disabled
    - LV1- Disabled LV2 protection
    - LV1- Disabled hash checks
    - LV1- Added Peek & Poke
    - LV1- Added mmap-function 114
    - LV1- ACL checks removed
    - Games & homebrew with 4.85 keys and lower will start
    - RSOD Bypass
    - Added Install Package Files (like any cfw)
    - Added APP_HOME to XMB
    - Warning message disabled for faster boot time (i don't care about epilepsy lol)
    - QA flagged
    - DEX & CEX pkg supported (yes, both)
    - Full ReactPSN compatability (why not)
    - Ingame screenshots supported (finally i can take screenshots of gta v)
    - psp drm checks disabled (i don't have psp backups lol)
    - Removed annoying singstar icon (that's good)
    - Removed PlayStation Store icon on Game category (oh yeah)
    - fselfs are native (plays debug/dex files like eboots)

NOTE: Pirated games are not supported (yet)

    - You can update to this CFW from CFW 4.84 or 3.55 OFW.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------

    WARNING:
This is my first CFW, so PS3UPDAT.PUP can't work, or be corrupted, if any problems, PM me. Thanks.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Good, but just an advise... at the time you publish the custom firmware you should add a couple of warnings advising in how many PS3 models you tryed it, and also advising this is your first custom firmware (you could say is a bit experimental), and also advising people to install it under his/her own responsability

If you add all this warnings everybody will be ok with it :)
Nothing personal... this rule can be applyed to everyone publishing things that could be potentially dangerous

Approved your messages and once you have a few more post you can then edit. Good luck with your firmware builds. I'm not home ATM but if you need a NAND flash tester I can help as I have a B-01 with teensy++ installed if you would like. Be a few days but figured I would offer.

Thanks! I have patched the VSH module. I don't find a NAND Flasher. I have a NOR PS3 (Phat CECH-K04)
I will send you the files when Flash Writed is ported to 4.85. Hopefully it will be ported. In September 10th, I will be inactive.

    How I contact you?

Why take communication off the site? A forum PM would have been ideal.

It might be because you're new, I think you need a certain number of posts before you can PM but not sure. Didn't mean to sound rude by the way :)

Sounds like in your previous thread you only have one not model ps3 to test with. This is a no no. You should have several board revisions of the plat and slim nor models to test on and at least one band model to test on before even considering a release. Do you want to be responsible for replacing a members bricked Ps3 from your software?

Ask around here for testers with flashers installed so you have your bases covered. I would recommend you install a flasher to your ps3 so you can recover from bricks also. That’s firmware building 101. We do have a public beta testing section in the forum once you get your post count up. There are also other requirements you need to do before you release to the public. @STLcardsWS requires certain things for these types of releases to protect our members here.

I know. I will try to buy PS3 to test before publising CFW.

Anyways, atreyu187 agreed to help me. He has a E3 Flasher.

Public release of puad has issues with fixtar. You can get multiple problems because of this including(but not limited to):
    1.psp minis/remasters(including official) not working
    2.controller sync issues(with some models)
    3.bd movies not working(not 100% sure)

The psp drm check is basically check Sony added to prevent ofw psp transfers which worked because type 3 license free. So on cfw it disables that check which expects to have license type 2(paid)
