The background... you mean the images with the stars that moves ?

There are 2 different ways to achieve that effect, and im pretty sure this is made with "the bad one"
It was originally a video, processed with a video program to extract the frames at an specific FPS intervals
Then that images are played individually as a sequence using the same FPS

This is "the bad one" because obviouslly are needed hundred of images to create a sequence of few seconds... is not efficient and the file size is huge

    --------------
Long story short... to change the color of that animated sequence is needed to extract all the frames, recolor them in a image editor program, and rebuild the theme

If you extract the contents of the theme with p3t extractor you are going to have a single background image with file extension .jpg
But that .jpg file extension is false... you need to rename it to .raf (same format than coldboot.raf)
After that you can extract his contents and you are going to find 60 images
Someone mentioned the theme is doing a loop of 2 seconds... most probably it plays at 30 frames per second... so most probably are 60 images

After that you need to join the 60 frames into a real video sequence, lets say in .mpeg format
Then open it with a video editor app, equalize the colors of the whole video sequence
Then extract the 60 frames... build a .raf with them... then build the .p3t with it

That's exactly what I was thinking. Kinda tedious if you have not done that kind of thing before. It would be great if there was a mp4 to p3t (raf) converter GUI. :)

I guess this star effect could be made with math too, like the particles.

Yeah, is a pita, and im not so sure how good is going to work that equalization of colors
You know... is not a matter of making the whole screen more yelowish because this would affect the white stars
Is mostly like a replecement of colors... is needed to modify only the blueish and replace by yelowishs

And yeah, "the good way" to achieve a animation sequence like that is by using multiple small images for single starts (or groups of stars, like a gas cloud in space)
Then you can move/rotate/scale/etc... individually, with javascript code inside the .raf
Also, you can repurpose them individually... first you display star_12 at left... then you display it again at right but rotated (so the user doesnt realizes is the same image)

This is a lot more efficient, also javascript allows to use a library to randomize math values... this assures you the animation never plays the same at any point... if you calculate it very well you can have a infinite loop that displays random stuff
