    Hello everyone. I'm only asking this because my tools don't work (being any of aldostools PS3 Tools) but can someone make me a premium avatar PKG? I've tried fixing the issue by addding DLLs to the folder (MSVBVM50) and installing Python for the .py files. I have the .edats in the avatar folder and when I run the CREATE_AVATAR PKG.bat file it returns this: [​IMG]
    so I'm asking if someone can please make me an avatar PKG. Thank you.

    I think another member had this problem. the solution was to install a different python version.

    Why make a pkg when you can simply upload the EDAT files into the psn_avatar folder in your user's home folder?

    This is the 3k/4k section, so no CFW I assume. pkgs are the best way to get any files onto a 3k/4k system, or load one by one with web xploit that fails sometimes and is slow.

    Wait, so all I need to do is put it in a folder called PS3?

    EDIT: I just tried and that didn't work. I'm really confused what the F%$# is happening.

    I have no idea, im just reading the error "cannot find the path specified" , so I am asking, does the path exist, kind of seems logical to check that.

    But anyway, other advice is that you need a different python version, so you should go with that.

    use python 2.7, put avatars (must be in an .edat format) into "avatar" folder, run the create_avatar_pkg.bat file, done :)

    Does the avatar.pkg combine all of the avatars into 1 pkg or does it create 20,000 different pkgs? I really need to know cause im tried of having to install 500 pkgs.

    the .bat file is probably different, but I believe, technically, content can go in any folder you choose. it's the content type of the package.conf that's important. example: in my theme tutorial, I believe I have the title id that of TMNT, but the title id itself is meaningless in this instance. afaik, this is true of any content type. ;)

    edit: btw, does anyone know if the content type for avatars is just avatar and whether or not you need two folders with the avatar content (XXXXX and XXXXXCONTENTS) like themes?

    It takes all the .edat files (Avatars) and combines them into one .pkg file ;).
    Remeber: The more avatars you drag into that folder, the longer it takes.

    In ps3 tools collection you will find the folder "make_pkgs" with the python scripts made by CaptainCPS-X.
    The batch file CREATE_AVATAR PKG.bat reads the files from the folder "avatar".

    The content type of the PKG is set by the script pkg_avatar.py with the line #428:

    metaBlock.unk22 = 0xD #content type = 5 == gameexec, 4 == gamedata

    oh, I meant without the script, with make_package_npdrm. under content type, should it be avatar? and do you need the avatar content in two folders - XXXXX and XXXXXCONTENTS like with themes? I believe the title id inside the package.conf is meaningless especially with themes and perhaps avatars since the system will check the package and know where the content goes. the one above gameexec and gamedata - aren't those for the game folder unless they go in there? I'm not entirely sure where avatars go. I thought they went into the home directory.

    IIRC the avatars are installed in /dev_hdd0/home/0000000x/psn_avatar

    I don't remember if make_package_npdrm.exe can create avatar packages. I only have been able to create them with the script.

    I couldn't find anything about avatar packages in this blog. It only have examples of:
    HDD Game Package, Game Data Package, HDD Game Patch Package, Disc Game Patch Package, License, Custom Theme,
    VSH Module, PS1 Game and Minis. Maybe the article is too old and that's why it doesn't cover other pkg types like ps2 packages or psp remaster.

    it can 4 sure...just tested with the latest genuine(revision 1970),,,

    p.s. tested also with the hacked ones...also OK...(you can pack as many avatars as you want too)...
