I already explained this in the coldboot research thread but going to mention it here too as its a nice patch if you spend a lot of time on the XMB. I might add a resource after this gets some more testing.

This example mod is a long coldboot.ac3 file that starts off with the normal ps3 coldboot sound, then has a 6 second pause, then for a finish plays 30 minutes of PS4 GUI background music at a lower volume.

The audio will stop after 30 minutes, or if you enter an application. It will stay playing while using the browser.

There are 2 main parts to this mod, the rco patch and the sprx patch. Then the 20MB ac3 file on hdd.

    Part 1 - RCO Patch:
I removed this line from the custom_render_plugin.rco animation script, this allows the audio to keep playing after the XMB has loaded.
    Code:
    <FireEvent object="event:native:/anim_coldboot_Finished" />
    Part 2 - SPRX Patch:
This patch changes the path for both coldboot_stereo.ac3 and coldboot_multi.ac3 to dev_hdd0/tmp/coldboot.ac3:

    Original:
    upload_2019-10-9_3-43-25.png

    Patched:
    upload_2019-10-9_3-44-52.png

DOWNLOAD v1.01 (CFW Only and needs dev_blind enabled)

The main downsides to this patch is that it only plays the audio from boot, not when you exit a game.

Known bug: It makes the web browsers mouse pointer invisible. There may be other bugs, so use at your own risk of course.

If someone wants to make their own coldboot ac3 audio file, I used this online converter to convert from mp3: https://convertio.co/ac3-converter/

Yes but the audio file would be limited by the amount of space on flash. I will put one together for HEN with just 10 minutes of background music.

    Will post it here soon.

Someone on HEN want to test this? Download PS3 XMB Audio v1.01 for HEN

It should be fine but I'm just not sure if there will be enough free space on HEN to include a 10 minute ac3.

If it wont install, you could delete hknw plugin sprx and rco, and delete the coldboot ac3 files that are on dev_rewrite currently.

Well, it had the effects you said it would have, the browser mouse is gone, and my ps3 doesn't make any sound after installation.

Btw @DeViL303 instead of the sprx patch, have you tryed to use a symllink ?, you know, the firmware tryes to load the file from original path in dev_flash, but instead of a file it finds a symlink and is redirected to dev_hdd0

In the last ManaGunz v1.37 has been added an option to create symlinks from the filemanager... i dont remember right now how is made but is explained in the changelog of v1.37

I'm asking what sounds you mean? Do you just mean the click when you move on the XMB?

I think the volume needs to be increased a bit, i use my tv at the volume 12, and the coldboot sound is loud and the other sounds

but the Background audio is almost mute, i need to increase the volume to 88 to get it audible.

The "bugs" that are not bugs, but caused by the cold boot behavior

    No Clock/Info Bar.
    No XMB Click Sounds.
At least using my custom Browser it Crashes. =(.

If is made a work around it will be awesome

Hmm ok, Don't know why its different here. Browser works here and I get the info bar, just no XMB clicks and no mouse pointer. I will keep messing.

    I will increase the volume.

I will check that out, I think there is some limitation though that stops flash to hdd redirects, maybe its a file system issue. Can't remember but I will try again.

Ohh, i guess you are right, there is a filesystem limitation because dev_flash is FAT32
The symlinks should work fine in dev_hdd0 that is a UFS filesystem but in FAT32 i dont know

And actually there are 2 different types of symlinks supported in UFS, the feature added in managunz v1.37 allows to create one of the symlink types, not sure which one is it and his limitations
