Hey Joel I own a PSP Slim + pandora kit. I can test pretty everything if you need
Just grabbed updates and will test on PSP 2001 and PSP Go when I get home and reply results. As always your updates are greatly appreciated and happily tested.
pinkfloydviste Thanks, that's exactly what I need to know
Thanks for the support you guys You guys can test these out whenever you've got time. Oh and just so you know, my builds don't have any chance of bricking your PSP because I don't mess with flash0 so that's garuanteed :P Anyways here's what needs to be tested. This test is to check if the extra memory on PSP slims is unlocked and usuable.
Run the app and click Settings->Performance->Ram Management.
- If the RAM management screen says 53MB is available, then extra memory has been unlocked successfully.
- Now exit settings, and check to see if Browser or Gmail works without any problems. (to make sure the extra memory is usable)
Download Test Build 2Here
Wololo.net/talk is unreliable lol >.< thanks for your time guys
That's sad as it is the "PSP Place" and can't get support there. I hope to see this evolve more then IRShell did.

Not the 'PSP place' it used to be you guys are so much better, thanks for the constant support.
Unfortunately RAM available: 48 MB
Also it show ¨RAM avilable¨ instead of available.
I can't test the browser today. I'll give you the result tomorrow.
Link all the builds you need it's a pleasure to give a hand
edit: the browser freeze cyanogen but the psp won't crash
edit2: GMAIL freeze cyanogen and the psp crash when I leave using HOME button
Lately it seems the only thing they've been doing are those tutorial contests. Unfortunately all the Vita news has basically dried up since that massive scene meltdown where like 50+ eCFW/VHBL exploit games were released in one day.
Hm on PPSSPP it shows 53 Mb, but that's different since its an emulator. Anyways your report shows that the extra memory is unlocked for the slims, but isn't usable since the browser nor gmail is working.
Can you please try this build, and report whether the browser/gmail works or not:
Edit: Btw you dont need a working internet connection to check. Once it takes you to the network connection screen, that means it works :P
Haha true. A homebrew contest would be better :P but oh well.
CyanoPSP 3.0 TEST 1
RAM Available: 17 MB
Browser freeze cyanogen the psp crash and turn off itself
Thanks for testing BTW the gmail and browser can only be used once which is really weird. If you exit the app, and then try the browser it'll work. But if you exit the browser and click on browser again or gmail it will not work. Its really weird, idk why it does that lol.
Oh and also thanks for pointing out the spelling mistake. It seems when using all the memory, it only allows to allocate a certain amount when required. But if I define a specific amount for allocation(for example 20 MB- 3 is used by default from the app, the rest is available) it works well. Pretty weird lol, gonna look into it :P thanks for the reports.
Yep the browser work if I exit the app.
You welcome Joel, anytime
Alright guys, here's test 3, and I need this to be tested on both PSP Slims and PSP Phats.
Here's what I need you guys to do:
- Run the app and click Settings->Performance->Ram Management.
- Report how much RAM is available for PSP Phats and PSP Slim.
- Now exit settings, and check to see if Browser or Gmail works without any problems.
Take note you don't need a working WiFi connection to check if the browser/gmail works. Once it takes you to the grey network selection screen that means it works. Also I've changed up the brightness control menu. I'm working on making it look more android, but it still needs more time. You can now exit the brightness control by pressing the circle button. Previously this wasn't available, and you'd had to exit the app.
Anyways that doesn't matter for now, I just need to make sure my recent "unlock memory for slim" changes doesn't break the Browser/Gmail, so kindly report back to me about this after using this build. Thanks for your time guys
Download Test 3
CyanoPSP 3.0 TEST 3 (PSP slim)
RAM available: 46 MB
GMAIL freeze cyanogen the psp won't crash
browser freeze cyanogen the psp won't crash
17 MB Ram Available
browser didn't work (froze up but allowed me to use menu to navigate back to xmb)
same thing with gmail
Thanks for the reports, the extra memory seems to have broken the browser and gmail app. I'll have to look into this later. For now I'll revert it back to my previous heap size.
Alright guys I've reverted back to my previous heap size, so the browser/gmail should work now *hopefully*. I've also modified the brightness screen, so testing that out to make sure it works like in the previous release would be nice, so I can continue making further changes. For this version, you don't need to restart the app if the brightnes control doesn't appear the first time. You can press circle and retry.
Anyways here's what I need you guys to do:
- Check to see if Browser or Gmail works without any problems. Once it takes you the network selection screen that means it works.
- Use the analog stick to navigate the cursor all the way on top of the screen.
- Press and hold the X button, and drag the analog stick down until the quick settings is fully displayed.
- Click BRIGHTNESS using the X button. A brightness control screen should appear. May not appear the first time, if so press the circle button, and click on brightness again until it shows up. No restart required.
- Use the UP/Down buttons to test for brightness.
Again, thank you so much for contributing your time pinkfloydviste and MaTT26. Once these are confirmed working, I can push all the changes into my git
Download Test 4
I didn't see download test 3 so I actually did the extra ram/gmail/browser test with test version 1. So I installed cm test 3 to try again. This version won't even boot up and makes my psp shut down.
cm boots so that's an improvement over test v.3
gmail/browser don't turn on and freeze the app
brightness opened each time and the up/down buttons change the brightness like before. However, upon opening the brightness adjustment up, the screen starts flickering a lot and glitching out (however the brightness adjustment still works). After like 10-15 seconds, the screen stopped flickering. Also, the horizontal brightness slider (android style) did not move at all to correspond with the brightness adjustments.
On a side note. Upon trying to exit the app via the menu button, the psp freezes at the "Please wait..." screen and the only way to stop it is a hard reset with the power button.
Lastly, thanks for all your hard work on this.
Hm that's weird, I reverted back to my previous heap size. The browser should be working like before. I'll have to investigate further >.<
And also yes movement of the slider hasn't been coded yet so that's why its like that. I'll look info the flickering issue but as of now I just wanted to make sure the brightness can't be altered like previously. Also I think I know why it freezes up on exiting. So hopefully shouldn't be too hard to fix. Its just that browser thing that's concerning me.
Can you try test 1 CyanoPSP 3.0 TEST 1
MaTT26 said it was working, and I dont remember messing with the heap size, so it should work. Thanks for taking out your time to do this
installed 3.0 test 1 and the browser and gmail still freeze it.
CyanoPSP 3.0 TEST 4
Browser work (as previously I can't run both during the same session)
RAM Available: 17 MB
Like pinkfloydviste Brightness menu is glitchy (noticed MS access during 15s then it's not glitchy anymore)
I'm able to change the brightness (the screen turn off at 24~30 / won't go above 90~91)
Brightness menu appear every time (it crash cyano if I spend to much time in)
To access brightness menu I need to drag the black panel 2 times
One time to get the black panel and a second time in order to diplay correctly txts under icons
Edit: no need to slide panel 2 times, txts are just slower so it work in one time if I hold the buttons a little more
Separate names with a comma.
