    Hi guys I need help.

I am selling my fat PS3 because I want to buy a 2100 series (Runs Cooler)

    I have a hybrid 1TB drive and I want swap it with a 750GB.
is there any way to clone it? its going in the same system but I don't want to start from 0, there is about 650 GB worth of retro games on it from nes,snes,genesis,master-system,ps1,ps2 etc..

    any help or directions?

I'd say the best bet is to backup the files you want using the ps3 hdd reader for pc, you'd need to dump your eid_root_key using the rebug toolbox, put it in a enclosure or the pc itself and just copy them off and then copy them back to the ps3 with the new drive in it.

I think it's better to backup using PS3 backup utility, but you will need an extra hdd FAT32 MBR to receive data.

Also if you use the system backup utility, you will need to backup some stuff manually too as some stuff will not be restored, like act.dat and licences. Good idea to backup things like that separately anyway.
