Hey. I installed the stand alone version of WebMan MOD under the Rebug firmware. I was unaware that you could install it from the Rebug Toolbox. Anyway, I can't seem to find a way to totally remove it from my system. You see, after installing it my system fan was kicking up to 90% so some unknown reason. So I searched and found out if you remove the plugin sprx it would remove the actual data, but the menu is still lingering on the XMB. Oh, and after removing the sprx my fan was back to normal. How do I completely remove WebMan MOD from my PS3?

though I've never done it, you can remove webman mod by disabling it in rebug toolbox, removing it from boot_plugins.txt (think it's on the root of hdd0), and deleting webftp_server.sprx (think it's also on the root of hdd0).

If you open boot_plugins.txt it says exactly where it's at

I did delete the sprx that boot_plugins.txt linked to and I deleted the initial install file. Since I didn't use the Rebug Toolbox to install it I didn't toggle it via its menu (I guess it wouldn't hurt to try). The sprx is gone, but the menu for WebMan MOD is still on my XMB.

I did, the menu was still there.

LOL, I found the fan control settings. All is good. I wish WebMan MOD would find the BIN/CUE (PS1) and CSO (PSP) files on the NTFS external USB drive (or that matter the PS2ISO folder too - and just have it copy over the PS2 game to internal and then mount it).

That'll probably go away after you reboot the XMB

I have no idea why webman mod didn't get disabled after doing all that.

I'm having the same problem. I installed webman thinking that it was necessary to have it to run multiman on my ps3 HEN. It kicked the fan right up to 90%. I went into the system setup and got it to run cooler. I've been trying to install multiman on my ps3 HEN 4.85 HFW with no success. I keep getting an error code 8001003A. It only starts ramping up when I enable HEN. So I thought that by deleting webman it would just be done and that's not the case. I even went into the webman mod folder and there it said uninstall webman, so I did but now my fan is running faster than before. I reinstalled 4.85 in safe mode twice and restarted my system and everytime the fan runs faster than normal. Any help on how to get it back to normal or am I up the creek without a paddle so to speak on this issue.

    Thanks for any advice

Your console temperature has not changed since you installed webman, Webman is not making your console run any hotter. It has stronger/better fan control so a faster fan actually equals a COOLER ps3.

If the fan is getting to 90% with webman fan control on default settings then you have a serious issue with your console and you should leave webman fan control active until you got new thermal paste on there.
