I have a friend with a water cooled slim. He paid like 150$ back in the day for the mod. Never had any issues with it. I believe it was some Indian dude in Stockholm that did it.

aside from fps and indie games, there's no real reason to own both a 360 and a ps3. now that tales of vesperia is coming to current consoles including the switch, which is the system I'll be buying it on, I have no real reason to own the system. well, there is lost odyssey which is miles above final fantasy xiii which reminds me...I beat that game on the 360. aside from a few memorable boss fights, the game kinda sucks. I played a burn of it on my xenon.

the only other game I'd really play was mega man anniversary collection, but that can easily be played on the ps3. speaking of which, I'm very excited for mega man 11. there's an amiibo for it along with the fact that it's coming out on the switch. unfortunately, the amiiibo and the amiiibo edition systems are game stop exclusive. :(

iirc, with a flashed optical drive, xbox original games must be padded with dvd mulleter. you essentially have to waste a dual layer disc for those. all 360 games are padded to a specific size 7.05GB, 7.29GB, and whatever xgd3 is.

I did manage to track down a copy of lost Odyssey for the 360, should arrive in a few days. I'm a huge fan of Final Fantasy, so it'll be fun to see how the two compares. :)

it's a big game at four discs. I never beat it though. I think I got to disc 2. funny thing is that with an jtag/rgh it'll swap discs automatically. you can even trick it by starting disc 4 with a save from disc 2, and it will know which disc to load. I managed to backup that save. I can't recall if I played a burn of it or solely on a jtag. iirc, it's from the same creator as the final fantasy series before square enix destroyed the series.

The day has come. I got a 360s Corona v1 with a broken DVD drive for free. Found a lot of 3 (2 Trinity and 1 Corona v3/v5) for 50$ that was stated as defective. Well, I just wanted a new DVD drive, which goes for 60$, so I grabbed them (more spare parts).

As it turns out, they all work just fine but are missing the HDD's. So I already ordered an ace v3, a x clamp removal tool and flux for rgh. Just need the Jr programmer v2 now.

I know the Corona v3/v5 needs the post fix adapter, but since I got 2 Trinity's and a Corona v1, I won't be modding that one.

Got at least 90+ delivery on everything needed, so it'll be a project for the winter.

I’ve been playing with 360’s lately too. I just got my ace and postfix adapter to do my first corona one of these evenings.

Will this be your first rgh install?
If it’s just the laser in the dvd drive that is bad that’s a pretty easy fix and the 360’s drive is way easier to work with than the ps3’s. Just a side thought that may save you a little.
I haven’t used a jr programmer but was thinking about picking one up for changing the button sounds.

I just did this on a Trinity for fun.

    Wiring diagram:

You can replace the stock buzzer with an 8Ohm 28mm speaker, that's what the Limited Edition consoles use.

That’s awesome! Those are some tiny spots really close together. I thought about ordering a qsb to cheat a little
I found some info about using a teensy instead of the jr programmer so I think I’m going to try it out sometime. I already had an old programmer so I couldn’t bring myself to order another lol

I’ve been slowing working on a fat 360 that I have a little mp3 board with an sd card that I’ll use to add the sounds. That’s the plan anyway.

Yeah those resistors are pretty small but it's not too bad lol.

Would definitely recommend a JR Programmer v2, they aren't too expensive and AFAIK you can only use a JR Programmer to reprogram the sounds on a slim. JRunner has all the Limited Edition console sounds or you can add your own. QSB isn't really necessary unless to plan to change the sounds frequently.

For a phat you can use the Sonus board (overpriced) or you could use something like this:
    https://www.aliexpress.com/i/32811700659.html
It can be used for other consoles too.

Need a programmer and a speaker for it though.

I had the wires soldered to the xbox but was afraid to leave them while I was waiting on the 3.3v regulator my tennsy then it showed up the next day :frown new:

Here is some info on using some other boards instead of the JR Programmer. It took a lot of looking to find it and maybe someone will find it useful.

This is what I have for my fat.

It's about the same as the one you posted but it uses a micro sd.

Thanks for the links, I wasn't aware it was possible to do it that way.

    Very interesting :)

    Wait, what!? Change the sounds?

What do I need for that? Is there any guides for it? And is it .mp3 files or what?

It’s called Sonus 360 but all you need is a speaker, jr programmer and jrunner. You can get a qsb to make the install a little easier. I’m not sure right off what formats you can use in jrunner but it has a few already.

I had my first 360 with several mods. it was a pos xenon, so it failed at one point (several times). because of that, I only have a modded rf board (purple with white quadrants), and a blue one. one of my systems also has a custom case. I don't really play it though. after my original system died, it didn't seem like it was worth heavily modding the system. I have two falcons (both jtags) and a jasper (flashed drive, but I never upgraded it to support xgd3. it's been in my closet for years).

    Cool. Gonna check that out.

Yes it'll be my first rgh install. Sadly the tray was snapped in half, so I just swapped the drive.

Ideally I would like to find a viper dual nand chip for cheap to make a dual nand mod, but I've only seen one and it was 25$+shipping 5$. I just don't have that kind of $ atm.

1W should be fine. Here's a video of the direct wire install on a Trinity, Corona is the same method but the resistors are in slightly different positions.

If you want to do a dual NAND mod this is the cheapest thing to use:
For Xbox 360 Console Dual Nand Squirt 360 Chip 16Mb Nand Mbyte PCB Secondary Nand PCB Repair Part Game Accessories https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/c4RLFpX2

May find it cheaper on eBay.

Here's a guide for dual NAND mod on a Trinity:
    https://www.se7ensins.com/forums/threads/trinity-dual-nand-guide-using-acev3-squirt-dna.1623275/

Edit: I wouldn't recommend doing the dual NAND mod for your first install though but you do want to use an Ace v3 with it.

Also for Trinity most of the time I like to do the CR4 Muffin install method with a Coolrunner rev C but you can do it with a Matrix Glitcher as well. I don't like to "waste" my Aces on Trinitys because they don't need a chip with an oscillating crystal.

    Last Trinity I did:

Thanks. The CR chips are a bit more expensive tho.

My biggest concern right now is the fact that Sweden have a fee on all parcels from China. 8$ on all item worth less than 150$. And that means that if I buy let's say a resistor worth 0.10$ I pay in total 8.10$. So I'll have to reach out to every seller and see if they can ship thru another EU country to avoid these fees.
