I've read the detailed changelog for 1200 and it's all very impressive. Even higher compatibility and performance for all devices.

It's really time to release a public build for 0.9.4, IMO.

...and now, @Krah also made a pull request to the ifcaro-repo for Sound-Support (although it hasn't been merged yet)!
The reasons for a 0.9.4-release add up! :D

BTW, when 0.9.4 becomes public, will we still have a vanilla build, without childproof, GSM, PS2RD and VMC?

Also, can certain new "features" of the betas be easily switched off? Like the ridiculous "Let's go" screen and the confirmation screen after we pick a game from the list?

That's a good idea to get rid of "Let's go", IOP usage, although I'm not sure what confirmation you're "talking" about.

    Is it about PS2 logo?
For me it's good to have confirmation about Logo to avoid bad compatibility reports.
I mean when someone will download\made made rip OPL will warn that it hasn't found valid logo in ISO.
Also it its good for people who are trying to launch NTSC game on PAL and there is no PS2 logo at startup,
    but the image is good.

    • Childproof has been re-implemented in a new way (from @sp193), with 'parental control'!
    • VMC isn't a build-time-option anymore... It has been implented permanently, because it is finally quite stable...
    • Same for GSM...
    • Same for CHEAT/PS2RD...
We try to get rid of as many build-time-flags/options as possible, to have as few OPL-Variations as possible!

The 'confirmation-screen' is the Info-Page! Just turn it off in the options...
About the 'Let's go!'... Just deactivate 'Debug Screens'!

Topic about Display info page is ON by the default has been moved here:
    http://www.psx-place.com/threads/display-info-page-is-on-by-the-default.21716/.

Debug colors many times might help to diagnose the problem.
"Let's go" and "IOP usage..." are just extending time to boot the game.
Maybe "IOP usage" might help dev with debug stations, but not normal users.

True... But I am just stating facts... Turning these two options off, will 'remove' that kind of stuff...

Great if it can be guranteed those extras no longer lower compatiblity, like they do with 0.9.3.
I like Debug Screens and they can be helpful. However, the "Let's go." thingy is something I find ridiculous.

It doesn't work because the math is flawed. If one wants to compute IOP memory usage, then the total amount of memory used has to be considered... not just the space taken up by OPL's modules.

So this "Let's go." thingy not only looks ridiculous, but it's also useless.

BTW, @sp193, can you confirm that building OPL with parental control, VMC, GSM and PS2RD no longer lowers performance? We don't need vanilla builds anymore?
