I've started progress to create a GUI for my XML generator tool, but batch won't cut it, so i'm overhauling the code to VBS so GUIs are easier to work with. Here you can follow my progress, all current files are public at
    https://github.com/PhoenixARC/XMLTOOL

    • 2-10-2019: Basic GUI created (no current functionality)
    • 3-10-2019: Added Further Menu Items and functionality (about 90% functionality)

    Any luck on this yet?
I have never used vbs before but I can try to help if you'd like.
    Changing this
    Code:
    objFileToWrite.WriteLine("<XMBML version="1.0">")
    objFileToWrite.WriteLine("<View id="main">")
to this I think will fix what I think you are asking.
    Code:
    objFileToWrite.WriteLine("<XMBML version=""1.0"">")
    objFileToWrite.WriteLine("<View id=""main"">")
Edit if this does fix it the reason is that you need a double-quote to start then another one to escape a string so when you use a double-quote in the middle of the string it tries to escape the string and then you endup with errors.

I was hoping that would work. I use c# mostly but it is pretty close to VB so if you get stuck let me know & I'll try to lend a hand.
