That tool I wrote, changes the language setting in the kernel. This setting is normally loaded at boot by the OSDSYS program, and any restrictions on the possible choices are enforced in software. So we are free to set it to anything we want. This is a PS2 setting, which will have no effect on PS titles.

It is not actually a region setting, but some games take the Japanese language option as an indicator that the PS2 (and hence the user) is from Japan, as only the Japanese console can have the Japanese language option selected.

Not all games even check the kernel language option (hence the language selectors). And not all games actually interpret the set language as an indicator of the console's region. In particular, the tool was originally written out of a request to unlock the Japan-only content for the Sonic Gems collection game, which is only normally accessible on the Japanese PS2.

I don't know, sorry. I only did homebrew software development.

You need to send your PS2 for hardware repair. Since the last thing you did was to have a modchip install, it could be a bad installation. After all, the modchip is meant to modify the way the drive MECHACON works.

Either way, there is clearly a hardware problem. Whether because of a bad modchip installation or simply because it is now 16 years old.

Let it unplugged from power and direct your 'EMERGENCY' to the person who caused the issue... Let him repair it for free, or let another person make a better job and at best with a better chip!

Oh he will... once what @jolek said comes true and I don't even mean that as a joke!

A shortcut could indeed cause the PS2 to go up in flames! It's just unlikely... But it is still likely to destroy components...

@Md Hesam: The hardware OBVIOUSLY has a fault and you keep it connected to power... You do realize, that this is outright stupid, do you not?

...and don't start the 'oh I am (a) loser for people here' - show... (again)

I'm telling you that this is outright stupid, because it is likely to cause damages to your hardware...

Now all you need to buy is IDE ATA (PATA) HDD 3,5":
PS2 should handle up to 2TB, but I doubt that for ATA (PATA) you'll find more than 500 GB.

There are also ATA (PATA) to SATA mods, but for now let's forgot about them.

If somehow you'll not be able to find ATA (PATA) HDD 3.5".
    Look for one of these:
With this mod, you can connect SATA 3,5" HDD.

Ooooh! An original Adapter from Sony! That one has LAN as well, so at least he got one thing for a very decent price! It was ~20$ or so, right (Edit: That thing alone usually costs 50$ and more!)?

That's indeed some valuable piece of Hardware you got there @Md Hesam ! It even has a working Network-Connection, which you can use to connect your PS2 to a Network, PC/Laptop, NAS, etc.

Please attach your pictures with the forum's attachment-support (like @Tupakaveli did for you)!

Like @jolek said... Now you only need an HDD and a way to install to it (which can be a PC, or even your PS2 [THX to the chip])!

But first of all, you need to let your PS2 be repaired...!

Good, should've done that if you have very minimal understanding on English instruction. Not trying to insult but slight misinterpretation could end up in a badly broken PS2...

    It depends...

My choice would be 39k due to it being very reliable without any changes to the Hardware and because it still has FireWire S400/i.Link (useful only in experiments or PS2ESDL), but the 50k has a less noisy fan and there are VERY FEW reasons for 'normal Users' to choose either over the other.

Normal users would probably prefer the 50k, because of it's quiter Fan and because they probably won't need FireWire anyway...

Since you have an original Sony HDD&Network-Adapter (damn!!!..., even the US-Version with an additionally integrated modem! That's great!), it would not matter very much, as long as you can get an HDD for it somewhere, IMO!
I found 2 320GB-HDDs recently... Let's hope you have some luck finding one as well for free, so you don't have to spend any more money!
(Just believe it will happen and it probably will... I know it sounds ridiculous, but that's how I did found half a ton of things and Devices... I haven't actually weighted it, but it is A LOT and I suppose it is atleast more then 600pound of weight!!!)
