The guys of DCHDMI are also working on a PS2HDMI!!!

This does NOT include any analog-digital-conversion, but is tapping (directly) into the digital signal(s) right before the DACs and creates an HDMI-compliant digital signal!

This could yield an even better quality than the best component-cables or any of the cheap Chinese HDMI-Adapters!

This could even produce a better quality than a Framemeister or OSSC (in theory)!
I am not sure how well de-interleaced content would look like, compared to a progressive picture (either native or by a game which is supported well enough via GSM).

This also could enable visual enhancements or alterations (see Ultra-HDMI, DCHDMI, the NES-HDMI-Mod, Framemeister, OSSC, etc.) and etc. with next to or even 0 lag!!!

This is AMAZING IMO, especially since the PS2's DACs ever seem to put out a bit 'milky' and blurred composition (picture-clarity)!
I hope this can hold up to the PS3-Emulation (visually)!

I also hope they will support YPbPr AND RGB/RGsB!

Hopefully people will also make patches for games whose internal resolution is in odd numbers such as x511, x447 etc. (which there are plenty), blurring the image before it can be even affected by the analog video output.

Indeed! I already mentioned it in the very first sentence of the first post!!! ;)

I will attach a video of PS2HDMI as soon as possible and csn attach one of the DCHDMI-Videos so people can have an impression of what to expect!

I believe it should be just about on-par with the BC PS3s, with maybe less display lag as it wouldn't have to go through RSX. Personally I'm not looking for it that much, considering that his designs are quite pricey (DCHDMI is $150) as they're not just "dumb" boards with HDMI transmitter and the cheapest microcontroller to init it which could be in the ballpark of about $20 and certainly enough for lots of people. Maybe someone else will take on that task.

Well, bit then those people out there could even use a cheaper solution anyway, because that would strip it from a lot potential features, which the pricey implementation of it can do LIVE (at a high res, without lags)!

The 9000x slim is going to be possible for hdmi after all. But will require and external power brick.

Looks like its possible to remove power brick from latest slim ps2 and install HDMI Mod inside.

First capture on the digital PS2. No sound yet, and this motherboard doesn't seem to be able to read discs. So cannot show any games yet. Will need to install a flex onto a new mobo or try and figure out whats is going on with this machine.

Comparison of DCHDMI Component Vs HDMI Picture Quality.

I just wonder is quality between Component and HDMI Mods are so different?
Looks like this HDMI Mod will be possible on all models starting from 39001 and Up.

But Price probably will be so high that it will be easier either buy ps3 with BC and play ps2 games there or buy Component to HDMI cable for 17 to 30 bucks from Pound TEch or Hyperkin(RGB2HDMI)--even though quality wont be as good as here.
One guy got clone of pound cable from ebay-looks interesting inside.
Another option is to make mod like here: https://quade.co/2017/ps2-fat-hdmi/

although i have cechc and the main reason i use it is to power my CRT's and most often do play ps2 games on it i really doubt that someone who wants to play on original hardware would rather buy bc/semibc ps3.i think main competitor/reason why someone won't buy your mod is that for more or less same money person who really wants to use original hardware on modern display especially if it's big one will rather buy high end scaler,as end result will look at least comparable, doesn't require hardware mods just inexpensive and readily available component cable and can be used for other consoles.although i do agree that ps2's video DAC isn't the best and there will be people interested in bypassing it it isn't that bad for most of the people...

I just wonder if some Chinese people could also clone or develop something similar to tap into digital GS signal of PS2 and output direct digital HDMI from PS2 but with the same type of Quality of HDMI but for way lower price ? All we need just cheaper solution. 150$ is way too much.
Probably it should be both Digital Y Cb Cr and Digital RGB through HDMI. I am not sure if Upscaling really could improve anything since technically it does not add any new lines.
The question is--in which Format Signal is Rendered inside GS before it goes to DAC (To transfer to component analog)--so is it Progressive or Interlaced rendered inside GS chip? Which video resolution inside GS Chip?

Dreamcast generates a DTV signal much like other consumer electronics of this era - while only 640x480 worth of pixels is ever drawn, this is contained within a 720x480 frame. Typical displays, however, interpret this as a true 640x480 eliminating lines in the process. The result? A loss in image clarity with minor distortion and a narrow aspect ratio. This is where the DCHDMI differs - it taps directly into the system delivering all pixels digitally to your display at a variety of output resolutions.
So as far as we understand there is internal resolution and real resolution.

don't believe me,although i had framemeister that i've sold with majority of my retro consoles as i didn't use them that much to justify keeping them, google and see for yourself, there's plenty of detailed comparisons with both framemeister and ossc...and there's influx of cheap 1:1 replicas of ossc from china (they even support same firware updates as regular one).threr's both significant improvement to be had in just upscaling, and good interlacing for ps2 games is biggest possible improvement in my opinion.

Is ps2 dac noisy or just special(Sync and RGBs --Progressive issues)--the way sony thought would be the best for user? What is wrong with it?

I just want to ask community one question--How original Xbox when connected through Component cable and when chosen in menu 480p-yes, 720p-yes and 1080i-yes--can Autofill all the area of 16:9 TV--no black borders? Maybe Component signal through Original Xbox not ignores 720x480frame lines? Because I feel that in PS2--somehow only 640x480 sent to TV and that's why there are always black borders on PS2 on 16x9 TV in any game. And we create Cheats in order enable Field of View and 16x9 autofill in PS2 Games --where solution could be simpler--just do what Original Xbox does--send all 720x480Pixel through component to TV...
Another thing is--Why Microsoft releasing almost at same time game console--at least in NTSC version could add to internal Bios support for 480p, 720p and 1080i, but Sony--why Sony could not add in Bios option to Turn ON Progressive Scan for Every Game and plus turn on 480p, 720p and 1080i and then game itself would default to resolution it supported? Such a fail in design of Bios...

my personal opinion is that they thought that is good enough for CRT's of the era, mainly because they knew that it would be mainly connected through composite.

I never saw clones of OSCC--that's very interesting. I just wonder if its possible to get digital signal from PS2s GS chip before it turns into Interlaced and in such way avoid interlacing at all--because Interlace is an Evil--it spoils whole picture--I really do not like when TV deinterlacing shows Line Artifacts. Can you guide me where clones of OSCC are?
