PS3 Disc Dumper 3.0.4 For PC

It is now easier than ever to rip PS3 game discs on PC with this tool, easier than on PS3 almost and if you use your PC you conserve your PS3 laser.

Just install this handy little 1 click portable application that comes in at 1MB.

    Developed by 13xforever

    Download Available HERE

Usage is super simple, the only thing it doesn't have that it needs really is to be able to rip to ISO directly. At the moment this rips to folder format so you need to use PS3 ISO Tools or similar to make the ISO after.

    Step 1:
No install required, just unzip it, on first start up its asks you to select the location for the dumps, so choose the Output Folder and press ok. You do not need to change anything else.

    Step 2:
Insert your PS3 BD disc into your PCs BD reader and it will scan it.

    Step 3:
Then it will automatically download the IRD if it exists and then you just click the Start button and wait for it to finish dumping, simple as that:

    Ripping Speed:

My Asus 14D1XT BD drive rips at about 1GB per minute, This drive is not on the list of compatible drives either, So if your drive is not on there, try it anyway as my rips work. Dirty or scratched discs will dump slower of course so clean them first.

    Dump Checking:

You dont need to provide the IRD files as it downloads the IRD file before it starts the scan. Then it when its completed it checks the dump and confirms it dumped ok.

Its good, it ripped a few discs that my PS3 would not rip too, stronger laser on my PCs BD drive maybe, idk. I kept getting errors on PS3 at different %'s.

Nice tool, the only feature i miss is to be able to create an IRD of the real disc + some safety check to verify that the disc is a real optical disc (not an ISO of JB)

Im mentioning this because some of the IRD from the most famous IRD dabatases are "fake", was made with tools that allows to create an IRD from a custom ISO/JB
Also, this presents another problem, because incase there are several IRD's availables for the same game... the tool needs to show you some kind of "selector" to allow you to select the IRD you want to use for the "integrity check"

But other than that, the tool is pretty cool, it was needed a tool like this since time ago :encouragement:

Yeah, its open source, So maybe the developer or someone will add some stuff like that. It would be great if the features of PS3 ISO Tools got built into this, or vice versa. ISO creation with one tool would be super convenient.

So far every game has validated properly. No issues.

Yes, is great that is open source, i did not want to critizise it, but i think is important to mention that the IRD databases availables are not perfect
I could see with my own eyes several IRD's of several games with different problems
-Some contained files generated by multiman (this is a minor problem thought, it happened because they launched the game and had an option enabled in multiman that generates files inside the disc folder structure)
-Some had the PARAM.SFO or the ICON0.PNG modifyed
-Some was made from an ISO/JB released by warez groups (with the EBOOT.BIN "fixed" for 3.55)
    -Etc...

This program is very dependant of the IRD databases availables online... and at the same time it could be the best solution to improve that IRD databases
Nowadays there is few people (or nobody) creating valid IRDs because it was made by people with an ODE

It makes me remember in XBOX360 scene there is a format used to check integrity of disc files, it was not made on purpose for preservation purposes, it happened because it was really needed to create "clones" of the original discs. But this is very handy too for preservation purposes and validity checks

And yes, it would be pretty cool to add the source code of makeps3iso to this tool + some of the additional options availables in rudi rastelli's "ps3 iso tools"

    Nice application.

I'm not a fan of IRD format. It is bad designed in the first place (useless checksums inside, compressed/not etc.). Should be just only disk key + pic and there would not be any fakes made by trolls who contaminating data preservation idea. As always be, the only thing by which disc image should be verify is checksum of entire 1:1 image. Just my three cents. ;p Would be very nice if author could add possibility to read just simple key (i.e recognized by GameID).

And BTW, I heard that WebMAN Mod can mount encrypted images, so why decrypting them (besides game mods purpose of course)?

It was always possible (I recommending ImgBurn). Also decrypting was possible long before but tools wasn't handy (this one definitely is).

I've used this tool! It works pretty well and simplifies the process, although I have had it hang on a few games and just not rip them. Not sure if it has had any further updates since I used it a few months ago, but the manual process works for me 100%. This works most of the time, but in the times it doesn't I go with the manual option.

Yeah, Was always possible just not easy.

With IRD I guess if the IRD check fails you dont know 100% that the dump is bad. But if IRD check passes at least you know its a good disc dump, so far all 20+ games I dumped have passed so I am happy enough. Its so quick compared to dumping on PS3 to ISO on NTFS drive.

Another small advantage of IRD is you could tell which files fail rather than just whole disc check so its a bit more complete. Contaminated database is a separate issue and could happen with a whole disc hash database too.

Personally I dont see any need to use encrypted ISOs now really just cos webman has support. Everything including PC tools has support for non encrypted.

For now, it is better than nothing having such IRD file, but my point was, that instead of IRD we should switch to something simpler, cleaner, lighter and better. Switching to disc image checksums + disc keys alone.

@Luisile No, and unfortunately never be. This depending of the drive firmware if have or have not support for PS3 BD-ROMs.

Try it if you are not sure, see if it works. My drive was not on the list here https://rpcs3.net/quickstart but it worked anyway.

I wasn't able to test it yesterday because my laptop doesn't have a BD. I'm looking into buying an external BD but they are kind of pricey...

External slim ODDWs are piece of junk, never buy them. ;) Instead use standard 5.25 drive with additional controller if You don't have eSATAp (power over SATA) port.

BTW: I have LG BH16NS40, it reads PS3 discs. It is old but very good BD writer.

Just had my first failure out of 32 discs dumped so far, it just stayed on 0 bytes.

Yep, that's exactly what happened to me to several of my games. Once that happens I just have to use the old, manual method.

@DeViL303 Could You try make image by ImgBurn using the same drive? And if succeed, after that decrypt data manually? This test will proof if this is fault of this application or oddw firmware (maybe there are some non standard PS3 discs).

Decompress (if compressed) IRD and extract disc key from it. Then use tool from attachment.
