I clicked patch nor memory and 7 minutes later I got worried and tried to move the left toggle and nothing moved and now the console is frozen.

From the official release of v2.0 notes:
If frozen then that limits you to only restarting the console,

Sorry for hijacking but I have the same problem.

    I have a PS3 80GB FAT (K model).
When choosing NOR, the "Intialize exploitation" is a success. But the "Patch NOR Flash Memory" freezers the console. I have rebooted several times with no luck.

    Is there a solution?

Are you using the v2.0 exploit with the HDD method on the official site? It can help if you set your homepage to http://www.ps3xploit.com/writer/index_nor_hdd.html (for NOR) , then close and reopen browser and try again. btw If you are on wifi it has less chance of working. If you still have no luck you might have to host the exploit locally.

I managed to download the dump.hex using the download to flash method.

When trying to validate using checker.py, it fails.
When dragging the dump.hex over checker.py, CMD window opens and closes quickly without feedback.
When executing from CMD I receive an error from the checker.py.
    line 106
    print tab, " ".join(a+b for a,b in zip(chunk[::2], chunk[1::2]))

How to I correctly validate the dump.hex?

It's a different problem, you should create your own thread. Maybe @littlebalup can help you with this issue.

You must use python 2.7.xx and not python 3. Run the command "python --version " to see what version you are using.

Please expand on this as nobody has ever mentioned anything about changing the python version or anything dealing with this. It was my understanding that all we needed to do was be on 4.82 OFW, dump, write flash_482.hex, then do CFW. I am having the same issue on a fat P01 NOR using both HDD and USB methods (as I would imagine most people with NOR are). System locks immediately after clicking patch NOR flash memory (step 3 on hdd) -- Forced to hard reboot luckily no damage done, but this is frustrating.

The python version is mentioned in the context of checking your dump after patching before rebooting, on PC.

Possible reasons for your issue are bad internet connection, using wifi, router maybe(?). It works for most people first time, are you using the official site? saving nor flasher page ( http://www.ps3xploit.com/writer/index_nor_hdd.html ) as your homepage so it opens on correct page, so no browsing needed, then reboot console and go straight to browser is best way

Also use hdd method for best results, save jpg to hdd first (press triangle on the link), it should show on xmb as corrupted image, make sure to save the jpg again if it passes midnight as the date of download is important for the exploit.

Internet connection is fine. Hard wired, has worked for every other step in the process. I have re-attempted by clearing history, setting homepage, rebooting, reloading browser, etc. Immediate lockup (shown by background animations immediately stopping) and required to hard reboot.

You can just keep trying, or you could try host it locally. it doesn't matter that your internet worked fine for the other steps, the timing was not important for any other steps. It worked first time on two console for me using the official nor page http://www.ps3xploit.com/writer/index_nor_hdd.html as homepage.

Mine took about 10-15 minutes, I just waited it out. My controller turned off on me like 3 times and i just kept waking it up, and moving the cursor around, eventually it finished.

It is a possible to get a success message after trying again and again. You must restart the console and then try again. If you see success message after a few tries then you are good to go.
    Hope it works!
