MAIN INTENTION FOR THIS NEW VERSION WAS ODE COMPATIBILITY !!! Makes some reasonable pre-selections depending on users PS3 system ISO(s) are now created via "genps3iso_v2.5" instead of "makeps3iso" for ODE compatibility Proper and complete ODE/CFW compatible game patching to 3.55 (even not all of the newer games will run on CFW 3.55) Patches PARAM.SFO, EBOOT.BIN, *.sprx, *.self and *.sdat files The new patch functionality can be found at "ISO Conversion Options" Note 1: To force patching use the "Always"-Option instead of the "If needed"-Option Note 2: Use "Just Patch..." - Option if you don't want to create an ISO... intended for Non-Cobra-CFW-Users "Patch ISO"-function, which is kind of a 'dirty' in-ISO-patching), now patches always(forced) to any firmware version between 3.55 and 4.66 Note 3: This will only work for CFW-User... so it's greyed out when u set up an ODE-system. Automaticly generates backups of original/patched files as zip files for simple restoring (only for proper patching) Excluding "PS3_UPDATE" folder from ISO is now optional Creates missing "PS3_DISC.FSB" file Readme updated Version 1.983B: Now it patches games requiring FW-Version > 4.60 If a FAT32-drive is selected as target for converting to ISO the resulting ISO(s) will now be automatically splitted Bug fixed which leads to a program-freeze in some rare cases when extracting a splitted ISO It's no longer needed to start PS3 ISO TOOLS as Admin under Win8(.1) when patching ISO Notes: It's important to set up your PS3-System on main window, because PS3 ISO TOOLS will make some preselections depending from that. You can batch-convert all of your PS3-Folder-Format-Games, when you select your game-archive as source-folder(eg "X:\GAMES" or "X:\GAMESZ") If you select a FAT32-drive as target for folder-format to ISO-format conversion the resulted ISO(s) will be split even without selecting the split-option All other tools, with the exception of ISO-Patcher, support batch-operation as well. Just multi-select the ISOs you like to process. As default ISO-name(s) will NOT contain special ASCII-characters 0-31, 126-255 and also NOT /\:*?"<>| ... This is to avoid problems with webMAN (You can allow usage of special ASCII-characters 126-255, like '™' or '®' in "ISO-conversion-Options") After conversion/extraction a log-file will be shown, which compares size and number of files/folders. 'Proper' patching is possible only for 3.55, because ps3-private-keys above 3.60+, which are needed for signing, are not yet released to the public. Tips: If you've choosen to extract "PARAM.SFO" and "ICON0.PNG"(Game-Icon) while converting to ISO-format, the 2 files will be placed hidden as "[ISO-name].SFO" and "[ISO-name].PNG" at target-folder. If you use webMAN copy these 2 files(per game) to "/dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp/". This will save you the effort to mount each game at least once to make webMAN display it's game-icon. Make sure game-folder or any file inside game-folder isn't opened in any way before starting conversion. Aborted batch-conversions could be continued. Already finished conversions will be skipped. Find the options to patch a game to a lower firmware within the "Create ISO(s) Options". First try the default options("If needed"). Then game(s) will only be patched when it's firmware version is higher as the set firmware version of your PS3-System If PS3 ISO TOOLS does not patch anything and game doesn't work try the "Always"-Option. The "Don't Create ISO(s)"-Option is just for CFW-Users who wan't to just patch the Game(s) in PS3-Folder-Format without creating an ISO(s) subsequently Two zip files will be created while patching. They will be stored in 2 different folders named "ORIGINAL_FILES_ARCHIVE" and "PATCHED_FILES_ARCHIVE". One contains backups of the original files which needs patching. And the other one the patched files. In order to restore just unzip the zip-file containing the original filesto the game-folder and you're done. 1st try your game(s) without installed game-update(s) Credits: @Estwald for: makeps3is extractps3iso patchps3iso PSX-Place News Coverage & Discussions: .. Yes as Cobra offers PS3ISO support and the MAMBA payload from estwald where these tools evolved from was created from the Cobra Source.. Cobra --- Mamba .. see the relation in names there
Cobra CFW yes but Cobra ODE systems use the ISO tools in aldos ps3tools as I don't recall the ability to add IRD files. This is the best set of tools with a nice GUI for them. Can even patch games higher then 4.46 without need to rebud them. For Cobra ODE use aldos GUI for GenPS3ISO to add IRD to make ODE comiant ISO .
Just posted it more less for those that will ask, wasn't meant for the OP. Sent from my C6725 using Tapatalk

My favorite set of tools, how I can recall this being so simple has evolved into the swiss army knife of ISO needs for Cobra and now ODE users alike!!
Hi Rudi, impressive work. Congratulations. I have a question: in the read me file I read "Game-Patcher to 'properly' patch PS3-Folder-Format-Game(s) to firmware version 3.55", so if I try to patch the back-up of BCES01663 (little big planet 3) which requires CFW 4.65, will work ? I am still in 3.55.
Hi Rudi, great job as always. i´m your fan, but i have a little question... Does this tool exclude from iso all these files are generated by multiMAN inside PS3_GAME? PS3GAME.INI - game settings PS3GAME.CHK - EBOOT/SPRX/SELF files are checked/patched for current firmware PS3GAME.VR0 - means the game is checked and no 4GB+ files are found PS3GAME.VR1 - means there are 4GB+ files PS3GAME.BG0 - RAW image (ICON0) to be used as icon in mmOS PS3GAME.BG1 - RAW image (scaled PIC1) to be used as folder background in mmOS Ty in advance
I guess he means that actually you can only set up your system up to 4.66 instead of 4.70... in fact i was to lazy so far do do this small change, because it doesn't change anything in terms of functionality. :o
[update] ps3 iso tools v2.2 V2.2 - Changelog - Bug fix: Fixed the sometimes strange behaviour of the patch-checkbox ('Create ISO(s)') - Selectable firmware range is now up to 4.76 (Main menu & 'Patch ISO') - '[auto]'- and '[online]'-tags could now be added to ISO-filenames ('Create ISO(s)' & 'Modify ISO(s)') PS3 ISO TOOLS V2.2 Regards Rudi
Does every game work well in iso format even in splited isos? i converted yesterday red dead redemption goty edition in splited iso and it worked wonderfull on fat32 hdd, thinking in converting all the games if it works well with all
In general, games work better if they are converted to ISO. Especially the games with a large number of files and the ones with files larger than 4GB will work on FAT32 without having to cache the big files to the internal hdd. Just make sure that you use PS3 ISO Tools 2.2 with the latest makeps3iso.exe and extractps3iso.exe included in Iris Manager 3.0 The previous versions of makeps3iso.exe and Cobra's genPS3ISO 2.5 have a bug building the ISO of certain games. 99,9% of the ISOs will be built perfectly with these tools, but the 0,1% could fail at some point in the game due the bug. The issue was fixed in Iris Manager 3.0 and the recent updates of its forks IRISMAN and GSM.
Thanks for the info [MENTION=89]aldostools[/MENTION] this is going to help me alot conserving space on ps3 internal hdd
