I couldn't sleep last night due to severe back pains, so I decided to dig out my PSP and play around a bit.

I ended up installing the 6.61 infinity on it and everything is fine. Haven't touched it in years, so I'm a bit Rusty.

Now I've installed some games, and the following Homebrew:

    Pspfiler
    Xmbctrl
    Pspinstaller
    Cxmb

I was thinking about installing Templar too, but I can't for the life of me remember how. ;)

Now I'm eager to know if there's any other good and/or cool Homebrew I should slap slap it?

Gonna give it a twirl. ;)

F-ed up my sdcard trying to get category lite and cxmb to run on 6.61, so I had to redo it. Luckily I always make a backup for every step I take. ;)

Anyone managed to make infinity work with 6.60 pro-c3?

I find plugin compatibility for 6.61 a little to low...

Yes, I tried that. Still a hit and miss game..

Couldn't get half of the plugins to work.

Thanks for the quick tip anyway. :)

Well it works, but many plugins are not affected.

Yes, the instructions are poor, but still of one isn't a complete noob, it's doable. :)

Too bad most devs left the PSP after 6.60, as there was just one more update to be made. :(

Most plugins can't be ported as source code is closed, and many devs don't even have it now.
About unclear instruction, any suggestion how to make it simpler are welcome

I think I left before 6.61 at 6.60 but honestly 6.60 played perfect for me.
Only update for 6.61 is the same garbage they give many updates which probably was also a secret attempt to try to prevent hacking but failed.

System software stability during use of some features has been improved.

Honestly I don't think system stability was improved that much in one minor update but I could be wrong

I would like to suggest simple instructions, but I have no idea how this converter works, I could not force any 6.60 plugin to work on 6.61, I tried a lot of config files according to the instructions, the creator himself did not describe where and what exactly to put files to work , the short description is not clear and by doing it plugins do not work even though they are visible in vhs.

However, this is a question because psn does not work on psp and most of the internet functions are useless, is it a mosaic to bring the system, for example PSP GO, to a state like it is in street? without psn and without all the non-functioning internet services? So that it is a "clean system"

the last psp update came out like 18 months after the previous one. it fixed hiccups in like two games, but yeah, most of it was ap. with all the plugin issues, it's best to stay on 6.60 or downgrade to it if you can. you can still make it look like you're on 6.61 or even 9.99 with the version.txt in the seplugins folder. type in the correct information. then, enable the system to read from it via the recovery menu.

here's what the version.txt should look like:

    Code:
    release:6.61:
    build:4047,0,3,1,0:[email protected]
    system:[email protected]_661,0x06070010:
    vsh:[email protected]_661,[email protected]_661,20091118:
    target:1:WorldWide

Looks to me that plug-in should work as simple as the instructions. 6.61 plugins go above the prx and 6.60 plugins go below the prx. According to that link that's exactly what its saying in a nutshell. Can't verify that plug-in works but ya that's the way it reads. On another note doing as pinky suggested will spoof 6.60 making it look like 6.61 and play the couple games the patch is for and then you can just use 6.60 prxs natively

not sure if it would count, but there's an app that will alphabetize content. it doesn't work with the vita though. lol. in that case and perhaps with your psp, you can use hbsorter. it's much better at alphabetizing over the slow and complicated way of doing this with psp filer. you still can't alphabetize content automatically, but you can select a game/app and move it up and down. I had to do this on the vita and pstv. the only downside is that I don't think that app reads through categories. undoing the category setup, then sorting works though. then, you can reenable the sorting mechanic. I stopped using category lite due to bugs. one of the sorting mechanics drops the first characters in I think the sorting method text itself. also, one of the mechanics doesn't work with pams, so the icon doesnt't move. the other sorting mechanics work, so I think it's a bug. anyway, there's a way to sort content on the memory stick by way of an app which I've forgotten the name of. you can even connect the psp to the pc via a usb cable and sort from there, so you don't even have to remove the memory stick. ;)
