No in fact I just posted over on reddit asking about going online... been confused due to there seeming to be many options. Anything specific I should know about SEN Enabler or is it just an install-and-go kinda thing?

After installing SEN Enabler 6.0.5 [BETA v3] run it and select SEN/PSN Options & then Enable SEN, it'll load/install & ask if you want to reboot which is X for yes

So I got the correct version of PSN Enabler but in my research, there seems to be all kinds of stuff you have to do first, changing a whole bunch of files, inputting a valid IDPS, etc. etc. Is that outdated info? Can I really just install and reboot and that's it? Is there anything I need to know about how/when to use it or is it completely passive? Thanks for any pointers, all my googling/reading is just getting me more and more confused. I think a LOT of information might no longer be accurate.

OK thanks. I went looking and after going 10 pages deep in the PS3 news section, I still couldn't find any reference to PSN Enabler at all.

I don't mind just following your directions, but I prefer to actually understand what I'm using and why rather than just blindly following instructions if possible.

Did you quote the wrong person perhaps? Was that reply for me? That's actually the one post I did find but it was about SEN enabler, not PSN enabler, so I assumed they were not the same thing. Are they the same?

    Crap... me again... LOL

    So what's this about?

Remember to use Charles Proxy now along with SEN Enabler and block three URLs (you can add more if you want), this software will minimize ban risk, but a ban is not 100% avoided on CFW

Block all these URLs on Charles or similar:

https://es.np.adproxy.ndmdhs.com:443 (Maybe you need to change "es" to your region, "us", etc...)
    https://nsx.sec.np.dl.playstation.net:443
    http://xmb-e.dl.playstation.net

Is this something I also need to do? Will this mean I can no longer use PSN at all? I'm extremely unclear on what exactly the consequences of blocking these URLs would be.

maybe 60 degrees C/140 degrees F. I have a slim and mine is set to 65 degrres C. these are temp thresholds, so the system will try to maintain temps at or below that threshold.

by the way, your system will likely sound like a jet engine at that speed, but it's better than a broken system. you can drown out the noise with speakers. I'm not sure what the danger level for the ps3 is, but with the 360, I believe all models - the system will shut off at 190-200F. it may be similar with the ps3. I would never let it get that high though. however, I have seen temps get into the late 80s degrees C, for several people, without fan control. the cell (cpu) is designed to endure higher temps than the 360's processor. I don't know about the gpu though.

edit: the temps on my 360 are set to 60 degrees C and it's a phat which is why I recommend that for a phat ps3. both system are very poorly designed heat-wise.
