    Hello I was needing some help about how to remarry a blu ray drive on Rebug 4.81.2. All I can find is old tutorial that use a "jig" and say you need to be on 3.30 official. Surely there is a better wayt by now.

    yes there is a better way, i believe rebug toolbox has this function built into it, i dont have a ps3 to verify but maybe @habib or @Joonie can confirm? and i think aldos xmb cfw settings mod has the function built in, but you better read up on it first before you do anything

    Activate cfw settings in toolbox, dump eid_root_key and place it in the root of dev_usb000, go to network column in xmb, select cfw settings, select service tools, select toggle FSM. Console will reboot in factory/service mode. Now you need to select remarry bd drive in service tools. If it's all OK you should toggle FSM once more and reboot. It's important to not EVER install any firmware while on FSM or you will not be able to get out of it rendering your console useless

    Unless the O.P. Is on DEX, he will need the one that's CFWsettings pre-enabled, otherwise the toolbox will fail to launch due to the unmarried drive causing BD auth failure on launching homebrew

    You should do this in CEX mode.
    Here is an extract of the XMB CFW Settings Readme by mysis:

    =BD Remarry=

    1) Toggle Factory Service Mode (should be easy now in Network->cfw-settings->Toggle Factory Service Mode)
    2) Put "eid_root_key" that belongs to the console to /dev_usb/
    3) Select Remarry Bluray Drive in Network->cfw-settings->Remarry Bluray Drive
    4) If everything went fine it should have notified: "CEX_drive_init() succeeded"
    5) Get out of FSM
    6) Dont forget to repair CRL/DRL if you need to fix it to play BD videos, try the multiman method first!

    Successfully remarried /dev_usb/cfw-settings.log should look like:

    2011-12-31 19:00:24 [xai_plugin] : : _xai_plugin_prx_entry()

    Thanks for all the info I,m sure this will make this a lot easier. But I do have a couple questions, first should I try to play a Blu Ray movie before I exit fsm to restore the DRL files? That is what most of the old tutorials say to do. Second, where can I find Rebug toolbox with CFW settings pre enabled?

    Look at the steps I posted. Exit FSM then load multiman to restore the DRL hashes.
    Location of hashes is
    /dev_flash3/data-revoke/crl/
    /dev_flash3/data-revoke/drl/

    Do everything in CEX.

    Here is a thread about crl/drl hashes & multiman + psdevwiki of course.

    Ok, thanks for clearing that up. Joonie's post confused me a bit, but since reading it a couple more times I see what he was talking about.
    I'll post back in a little while and tell you all if it worked ok.

    There are various ways to restore the hashes, including some under FSM, under Linux etc..
    The multiman way is the easiest but it does not always work for some reason. Try it anyway.

    Basically having to restore the CRL/DRL hashes is an issue caused by the fact that /dev_flash3 is deleted in all cases when performing certain operations, even when there is absolutely no need/reason to delete it. No provision was made for this & the lv2diag.self bundle does not contain one single version of the self that could help preserve /dev_flash3 or any /dev_flash for that matter... Short sightedness on the part of the s#ny dev team, what a surprise..
    It's possible that internally they produced a workaround but if it's the case it was never leaked. Patches were talked about iirc but nobody produced a patched solution afaik.
    In any case, one cannot count on s#ny to fix issues. Take the sdk for instance, the standard C/C++ libraries are basically a nightmare to use with prx projects especially in C++. Without going into too much details which would only be understood by devs, a huge number of standard, basic functions & classes are unusable forcing devs to work around every one of those obstacles, not knowing what issue is coming next...
    One could forgive a partially broken sdk on day 1 even under expensive license but only at the condition that such issues get fixed... Well needless to say it never got fixed...

    Joonie was basically saying that you could be in a bit of a catch22 situation, because you need to enable CFW settings, but to do that you need to boot Rebug toolbox, but to do that you need to enable CFW settings, so you are stuck, what you need is a version of Rebug that already has CFW settings enabled on install (this is done by renaming a few files and rebuilding the PUP), I am not sure where to get one or if you will have to make a custom PUP yourself.

    if he is on cfw, then he could just use cfw settings standalone by ftping it to the console right? then enable fsm and do the remarry.
    afaik, you dont need a working bd logic board to trigger fsm. could be wrong though.

    No, unfortunately not, webMAN, Cobra, and CFW settings are all disabled by default. It is just a matter of rebuilding the PUP with the files renamed from their .bak extensions to the originals.

    Or even for simplify task. Adding renamed files without removing old ones (but overwriting if needed!). This should simplify process in MFW builder (is harder to rename, when we can just use "change files in devflash" and rename them on PC). BUT THIS IS JUST CFW TO REMARRY THEN, after that we should reinstall clean Rebug. Still, is not so easy task for everyone.

    Files to change:

    /dev_rebug/vsh/module/xai_plugin.sprx.bak",

    rename to

    /dev_rebug/vsh/module/xai_plugin.sprx");
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    /dev_rebug/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/cfw_settings.xml",

    rename to

    /dev_rebug/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/cfw_settings.xml.off");
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    /dev_rebug/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/cfw_settings.xml.on",

    rename to

    /dev_rebug/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/cfw_settings.xml");

    And overwrite files with green ones. Then build PUP.

    Definitely! :P
    As far as I know is impossible on CEX that have all "access ways" disabled.

    Sadly MFW builder is giving me unpkg error.. I don't have time to deal with it.

    This two lines in "Change dev_flash files manually" should resolve issue:

    Code:
    dev_flash/vsh/module/xai_plugin.sprx
    dev_flash/vsh/resource/explore/xmb/cfw_settings.xml

    Use attached files for above operation, remember to check "4.XX base firmware" and "Change dev_flash files manually" in menu.

    In add, after Remarry process via cfw-settings, you can have error 80010017 when trying to play retail Blu-ray games.
    To correct it, the Bluray Drive firmware must be reinstalled.
    Most of the CFW are without BD/BT firmware to bypass broken hardware. So can be donne by either downgrade to 3.55 OFW or Dual Boot firmware installation.
