    Hello fellow community members.
I'm trying to build a ps2toolchain environment and compile free mcboot from source code for educational purposes.
I've been struggling for days now.
I tried compiling in windows using msys and mingw64 but I faced a load of errors.
Then I switched to ubuntu and tried again but still no luck.
Can someone help me with setting up my environment?
And if possible compile from source for me once to confirm that the source code is error free and I'm doing it wrong.
I followed multiple guides and non of them helped me reach my goal.
    Thanks for you help.

FMCB is closed source, unless you mean some quite old versions* - I have no experience with programming for anything $ony but if devkitpro experience happens to apply, expect no compatibility of modern libraries with 10 days or more old code :P

    * original developers got pissed at others removing credits; of course it's the honest final user that now has no option to change/remove the logo who ultimately lost the war

I have the source codes that I need, I just need to compile it, There was a file inside guiding the compiling process, and it indicates that I have to use ps2toolchain environment to compile. I can send you the source if you can help, it's for version 1.8b.

as he said this version is old we have 1.966 today and its closed source many in the past remove devs credits and put their names on it and he react to make the source closed or maybe to only trusted devs and he is right ,as stated up many changes happend since 1.8b and updated and new libraries in the current FMCB

The toolchain and SDK have gone through a lot of updates since 1.8b was released, so even if you get that built/installed, the 1.8b FMCB code probably won't compile on it without pretty significant changes.

This is why I linked and old guide with downloads to older toolchain versions..... And yes the dowload links still work to the toolchains.

I haven't seen this thread before!

Yes, GSHI SDK should work with some smaller mods...
The COMPLETE source still won't compile on it (only with mods)!

You can also still compile the Payload alone, if you choose to!
