    Hi.
    Just jailbroke my ps3.
Want to use it to play ps2+retro emulation games (+bd player).
It seems like retroarch is the way to go?
Looking for nes, snes, maybe amiga500, scummvm etc.

I have used retroarch before, but found configurating it a bit difficult (on PC).
I would also like a much more child friendly giu.
I have used retropi (on raspberry pi) before. Is there any other frontend that is more similar to retropi, gui wise?

    Thanks

Or maybe you can do something to retroarch, wich will make it look more user friendly? The UI is pretty bad imo. I need something that looks and feels more plug and play, for my kids. Retropi GUI is pretty much perfect I think.
    Thanks

There's not much you can do here about the GUI honestly, not that I know of anyways. I think the general consensus is Retroarch is pretty bad on the ps3, least for most users.

Only thing I can suggest is installing one of the older versions. The one I'm using is quite a bit more stable than the updated recent releases. The GUI is much more bare-bones (may not be the best for children either) but there's a "load game / history" tab where all you have to do is click on one of the games you recently launched and it boots. Otherwise you have to manually select which core to use before you load your rom.

Go here https://store.brewology.com/ahomebrew.php?brewid=152 click on "previous versions" and test out v0.9.9. That's the one I use. It doesn't have every single core, but it does have the ones that count anyways lol (snes, nes, gba, gbc, genesis, etc.)

Mmm. Bummer. Might stick to my raspberry pi3 setup with retropi installed. Great GUI etc.

Even on ps3? Will have to check it out.
Does it have to be downloaded separately or can it be selected within retroarch? I have googled a lot, but can’t seem to find anything about it.
    Thanks!

Ok. Found out how to change theme. Thanks.
But retroarch crashes when I try to scan my Roms library.
Seems in need of an update (which probably won’t happen). Too bad. Wanted to use the ps3 as a retro console.

Perhaps you could make individual pkg of your favourite games (Amiga, mame, ect)

Yeah i thought about that as well, but the selection seems to be very small and not very user friendly. Guess I’m spoiled with emulationstation/retroarch.
So far I have only found one snes emulator. And I don’t really know where to find other emulators. It just seems that the ps3+emulators is a small thing.
