I'm not sure what's going on here, but I decided to boot up skyward sword to check if my new motion plus adapter worked. sometimes the game gets to the saved data selection; sometimes I can load the save. however, most of the time I get a black screen. could someone test if that works on the wii u? here's my sys check. btw, I've tested other games that use motion test (i.e. red steel 2). that game works without issue. as for skyward sword, the problem happens with both the game and the demo. I read that watching the motion plus instructional video is required. however, that didn't work for me. anyway, the game boots to black screen and the system freezes:

I think I may have fixed it. instead of using the global function for the nand, I turned it off. it was somewhat a pita trying to get a few wiimotes to pair in neek and regular nand.

Yeah I'd bet that's the reason. Had the same issue and solution to my Wii u.

Currently in storage tho, as I have a backlog for the X360 to catch up on.

searching on google resulted in multiple suggestions like letting the motion + video run once, turn off IOS reload, try another cIOS, etc. I think partial emulation is saving to emunand. I was messing with it all day. iirc, partial emulation (which could be my global setting) refers to saving to emuNAND instead of the system, but I could be wrong. I hacked the hell out of my wii u, but I haven't done much with it for years, so I've forgotten most of it.

Yeah, I messed alot with it back then. There's still some stuff I want to do, but I never found enough info on the matter back then, so I moved on to other things.

Still trying to get my hands on a rgh chip and Jr programmer for my X360, but every time I order the customs sends a bill for 75$USD for import, so..

what's funny is that the vwii is easy to hack but difficult to perfect. there's a lot to do with stuff like neek and emulation. I have 3 nands for the vwii. in usb loader gx, you can create a default emunand, but some games like castlevania adventure rebirth will not work without neek, so you essentially have to add it to the emunand the system scans for when showing the games' list, then install again on another nand (neek) to load the game. it's not ideal to run all wiiware stuff through neek. it's too much data to process so the wait would've been a long time. thus far, I've only found two games that needed neek. put that on top of the fact that you have to add a different FAT library just to get emunand stuff to work while being ustealthed.

dang, that's about the price of a 360 right there. you might tell them that they're books. lol I think that's what one of my Japanese teachers would do, since her entire family lives in Japan. in reality, I think she was sending over food of some sort. having been in the western markets of Japan, things like mustard and dr. pepper are foreign to them.

Yeah, I use a Wii for the Wii/GameCube games, since I have one that supports GC.

Only thing I'd love to be able to do, is use my N64 USB controller on my Wii U for emulators, but I never could figure out how to make a cfg for the Homebrew that adds that feature.

Yeah, I found chips and programmer for ~30$, but add the fees from customs and it's a no go. Postal fees for this stuff is about 20-30$ if they pass customs, so it's still expensive as F...

2 years ago, you could get the parcels marked as "Gift" and you could avoid the fees, but now they charge either way.

No I haven't.. Never hacked the vWii on my WiiU.

But I tried to use HID to VPAD to use USB connected NES/SNES and N64 controllers work for my emu's. Never figured out how to make the configs for it tho.

Perhaps you can make some sense of it?

I actually own the entire line of gamecube character controllers for smash bros:

I own the entire set of wiimotes too.

that includes a tron controller (all black) and the skyward sword nunchuck, wiimote, and epic mickey's paintbrush. the nunchuck was difficult to get, because only members of club nintendo in Japan were able to get it. they got great gifts for buying games. all we ever got was some crummy cards. lol

I have the link controller. But I never liked to use wiimote or GC controller for old school games. NES, SNES and N64 should be played with their respective controller, hence why I bought one of each. Don't have the original consoles no more, so emulation is my only option.

that's when I discovered you could actually use the snes/nes classics controllers on the pc. I think one or both of my snes controllers are connected to my pc.

Yeah I do most emulation on my PC, but I'd like to use the Wii U instead. I mainly use my PC as a workhorse, to maintain and experiment with my other equipment.

I have the emulators set up on my pc, but I never use them. ever since I got a framemeister, I haven't needed to use the pc for psx games.

I completed oot on the 3ds. it's definitely worth playing a second time. I'm hesitant to try breath of the wild, because there are a lot of things about that game that might turn me off. one being the large dungeons of earlier games in the series.

I sold my ps one a long time ago. you're talking about the slim model? I replaced my old ps1 with the slim model after disc read error.

@Spawn , here's my skyward sword wiimote and its nunchuck. the nunchuck was sorta difficult to get, 'cause I had to import it from Japan. it was a club nintendo prize there. they got that and we get hanafuda cards!? wtf nintendo!

yeah, it's pretty sweet. getting platinum with club nintendo was a pita. you needed 600 points, which I think was around $600 dollars, to have been spent over the span of a year. now, you get gold or platinum coins for every game you buy. they're always redeemable if using the eshop, but retail games only give you coins if it's within one year of the game's release. because of that, I didn't get coins for several games including breath of the wild. it's also how I discovered I had a bootleg copy of poi. I had bought the game on ebay, but the game was to a different region. you can't have account and game be different regions for some reason. I eventually bought the game on the eshop. the saves were not compatible, but both the eshop version and the retail version seemed to be the same. it might've been a mess up on nintendo's part, because I called them. they gave me the coins. ;) the american eshop one time had a trophy looking thing with mario for platinum. I always got short changed with crappy platinum prizes whenever I had spent a lot.
