I wanted to share this with everyone. I was having a problem with Movian accessing a share from my newer Windows 10 PC -- Movian would show a "socket read error during negotiation" when I'd try to use a bookmark to get to the share. My other older Win10 pcs (that were upgraded from Win7) worked fine tho. I found the fix last night:
Go to the "old" control panel in Windows 10 and go to Programs and Features. Then to "turn Windows features on or off". Then go on to "SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support" and checkmark that. This will fix Movian where it can access the share properly!

    Regards,

Nice find, anyway "SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support" is disabled as is known to be very insecure (WannaCry and Petya, more?). Imo is better to use dlna for that.

The dlna standard does not support passwords as i remember.
The interesting part would be password restricted access to a share on a server.
