Nope, don't put cheap crap like this on your stuff. You want Arctic MX-4 thermal paste.

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=arctic+mx-4&crid=77KHJYOPWS0Z&sprefix=Arctic,aps,274&ref=nb_sb_ss_i_8_6

EDIT: Also again you are looking at eMMC stuff for phones, I have already looked for stuff that would suit an eMMC SuperSlim as I have one and the only option is a "very" expensive professional eMMC programming kit for programming on and off board.

Its conductive so I would never use that as it can cause a short if it gotten any where it shouldn't be.

that's why you use the brush. ;) I think anyone that careless should refrain from opening the system anyway.

Its not just that but carbon conducts heat better than metal particles, and is more resistant to being damaged by it so MX-4 is the way to go, at least from that stand point anyways.

I might give that a try. what I have now is coagulated inside the tube. I originally bought it for the 360, so it's like 10 years old.

@Fallen777 i see you wrote some posts in this thread but you missed the posts where littlebalup explained what he did
    https://www.psx-place.com/threads/research-superslim-4000-series-hardware-flash.23224/

The SD cards (and microSD) have 2 different access modes (and pins dedicated to that different access modes)... one of that access modes is serial communications at low speeds
The awesome thing is you can access a eMMC flash chip using that same serial communications

So... what littlebalup did is to solder wires from the PS3 eMMC chip to an SD card adapter
After that you can "plug" your SD adapter to a PC and you are going to see the eMMC device like an standard SD card

This image is self explanatory (at least in concept), the wires should be soldered to the PS3.... and the SD card needs to be inserted in a PC SD card reader

oh i see thats what this all about making the eMMC a sd for flashing i wonder if i can do that with an hdd obtaining dump from eMMC and patch it and flash it on hdd
now i have completely understood that its the only way to cure eMMC models its mostly the same as soldering a teensy++ but completely different method
littlebalup mention dumping the eMMC not about patching and flashing the dump back

how do you put a ps3 updat.pup on a cd disc

you got the wrong idea bro i know that the white box is SD card adapter
i was talking about dumping emmc patching it and flashing it back and in addition flashing that patched dump on a seperate ps3 compadible hdd incase of future failure

I doubt you can take a dump from a eMMC flash and "convert" that dump into a hdd partition (following that special layout of the hdd's used in PS3's with eMMC flash type)
I never heard about that, looks tricky and you dont need it
If at some point you achieve to fix your eMMC contents and your PS3 returns to life... then you could connect an hdd, allow the PS3 to move the files to hdd, then take that hdd to a PC and make a backup of it
    https://ourpastimes.com/how-to-put-a-playstation-3-system-update-on-a-cd-12454332.html

This is the same than installing a firmware from USB, is not going to help with your problem

method wont really matter if its fat slim or superslim
the question is can either one can really extract the dump from any of these and flash it on an seperate hdd
this could be an help if people would make an good dump without doing anything stupid like jailbreaking unsupported consoles
