20170215_200456.jpg As there is not much detail on how to do fast dualboot installation for slims this should help grasp what is needed and were to start

This is only to help know were to solder and what to solder to where:
Please refer to @joonies guide in first spoiler for software setup

    Things to note:
    • * soldering is required*
    • Shave E3 clip
    • I wont be explaining tear down
    • Please use joonie's guide HERE
    Things required:
    • Ps3 unit capable of cfw
    • 2nd hdd
    • E3 flasher limited or estata dock
    • Soldering knowledge
    • Soldering flux
    • Thermal comound
    • 99% rubbing alcohol
    • Wire
    • Time/care
    • Multimeter
    • Knife/razor blade 20170218_214928.jpg
    Risks:
    • Permanent damage

    Pros/cons:
    Pros
    run clean OFW
    Run two cids
    Run two cfw
    Run cex and dex
No risk of brick as long as kept valid dump

    Cons
Setup install x2 each ofw fw release

    Hi
so let's begin with the basics u all now how to install and take backups of your " ps3 slims" flash memory if not please refer to the forums search bar..

So first solder two wires to you E3 clip using SBE and SBCE contacts

connect your clip in correct orientation check online for your motherbourd as the nor chips are positioned differently depending on model number
    A/B points and sbe/sbce
    20170215_203858.jpg
    IMG-20170217-WA0001.jpg
As you can see the multimeter is reading 0.00 full connection between A/B this we need to break u will more than likely get a reading once you cut the trace between then but it will be resistance feedback so long as u dont read 0 you should be good

This contact on the left is Point A this is where we solder SBCE to
20170215_203919.jpg 20170216_002338.jpg 20170216_003243.jpg then in between the left point A and the right contact B u need to cut the trace between them with a razor
    #1
While E3clip is attached to nor chip and flasher but wires NOT SOLDER and trace cut set switches 000000 and put your multimeter on SBE and on GND THERE SHOULD BE NO CONTINUITY
NOW SET SWITCHES 100000 "FLASH FUN MODE"

    YOU SHOULD HAVE CONTINUITY
    #2
    IMG_20170221_222809.jpg
set switches 000000 place meter probe on SBCE wire from E3 ribbon cable and other probe on CE "Refer to motherbourd diagrams" while set to OFW mode you SHOULD continuity
Now set switches to 010000 CFW mode you shoul NOT have continuity
    gg.jpg hh.jpg

Apply new thermal compound on rebuild REMEMBER to much will act as an insulator only a thin spread is needed
Every one has there own method go with what u feel comfortable with..

    Thanks to:
    E3 team
    @Joonie/ for guide
    @littlebalup/ help with issues
    @baileyscream
    @playerkp420

Also check this MOD with e3 flaher/linker by @WTF-IGO
    http://www.psx-place.com/threads/my_ps3-slim-e3-flasher-mod.12269/#post-70397

Reverting back to standard cfw/ no fast db..

Ok this is pretty simple all you need to do is flash your E3 nor back to PS3's nor flash either via:
    • Micro sd
      Code:
      switch setting 000000
    • Flash directly
      Code:
      switch setting 100100
I advise to take a backup and validate and check it sucessfully flashed over!
And check cfw HDD boot's on ofw mode "000000"

Now remove the soldered cables and E3 flasher.
Now bridge points A/B back together
    REBIUILD

    Things to add:
    • Reverting back to standard CFW
    • More detail

Info and images to be added as i go :)

This is the A point, or left side of resistor on cech L00 VER 001 board. Also resistor was removed, instead of cutting traces on a and b sides.

I believe it is also the same for DIA 001, and DIA 002 boards. This is where the sbce wire goes.

Also I noticed in your pic that you did both the card method and pea method for paste. I know thermal paste is a highly debated topic and very opinionated one. I was under the impression from what I have researched in both pc and console scene that the pea method alone will be sufficient for even distribution of paste . Just wanted to gather your thoughts on why you did both?

Yea I've watched a few of his vids, some were good others I questioned his methods. What I have learned from my teardown's is that just using the pea method alone gets sufficient coverage of the plate. Like i said though, to each their own.

Where's my love at? @Sdw100 ? Jk, I'm gonna be doing a black cech L01 model I have that is identical to my white one. Now that I know what I'm doing, I'll be able to document it step by step for reference here. I'll be using the linker, but won't be permenant.

Yea I haven't had aNY time whatsoever to mess with it since I got it working again. On top of that I got a stack of consoles to get to yet. I got a second flasher from our very own atreyu, I am grateful for him hooking me up with it. It would be nice to have a quick reference guide with pics on here of all the different switch combos and what they do. Not just 1s and 0s and an explanation.

Not a bad idea but @ joonies guide wich i linked in 1st spoiler and @baileyscream guide both have explanation of TF bourd individual switches so may not needed as such

I listed those 3 images above as they are most common setting on fast dualboot and the basic 001000 backup ps3 nor :)
