UPDATE (April 26th, '20) - Another New Video Released >>> The next PS3 NVidia RSX accelerated X.org steps
(Original Article from Nov. 14) Is the PS3 a bit closer to gaining Hardware Acceleration (via RSX) in OtherOS (Linux) with a proper driver to enable the GPU chip? We are not there, but we may be getting closer to a reality. Earlier this year (back in April) we detailed some of the progress that the busy dev RenéRebe has made with unlocking the potential of the PlayStation 3's RSX chip and now today we have been greeted with a new video and what we can expect with this project as the developer starts to undertake the challenge of further unlocking one more component of the Ps3 hardware,. The developer has alot of videos on other intresting subjects in his diverse YouTube channel >>> (Bits and More) <<< many very informative video's..

Yes, I'm sorry if you thought I'm a troll. I don't have a technical knowledge about programming. I'm just a curious person who's eager to learn.

The PS3 already is running retail games at the limits in almost all cases. This is why unfortunately most ports ran better on 360 than PS3 as it had a full 512mb system memory, not the shared 256 that the PS3 did.

However, that being said, no this will not do anything for PS3 retail games. This is for running stuff from OtherOS i.e. Linux on PS3. I haven't seen if anybody has said if this will benefit stuff running through GameOS or not. My guess is this will be mostly for Linux stuff like maybe getting some hardware accelerated homebrew and emulators on it.

Glad he is continuing with it. Keep thinking he will lose the motivation then he comes out with a new video.

      hey everyone,
please go to the comments section on this video:

sort to newest and leave a thumbs up on the comment with the N64 emulator demand. Maybe reply to the comment as well to show Rene that there is a lot of interest to it.

      Thank You!

Videos are way to long if he is trying to grow his channel with the content.
I see the duration of these videos and i cant even start them, because of the time.
Need to keep these videos but also throw in a summary here and there so hours and hours of videos do not have to be viewed and i am sure many are in the same boat where you find yourself not watching it because of the length.

If it concerns length, I prefer written articles instead of videos. I can watch short or long videos when I have the time, but otherwise I prefer written articles.

Youtube has a feature where it saves where you are at in the video if you leave the page, and goes to that position if you come back...

At 1:34:40 in that video below he speaks about getting N64 emulation working. Short Answer is maybe, for more technical answer watch the video I have posted below which skips to that.

It seems to not be working from this embedded video, but right click and open in new window then skip to that time in the video and you can see what he says about it. I believe the question was about getting it working over GameOS but I don't see where he said a definitive yes or no about that. My guess is he is speaking under linux only.
