So I am fairly new with using free mcboot, so I may be asking a redundant question, but is there a way to use a usb wifi dongle to connect to the internet? I have an after market sata adapter for my HD, and have no way to connect to the internet. Am I really missing out by not being able to connect online? I figure it would be easier to connect and transfer backups much like I do with my Xbox. Thanks for any help anyone could give me. If I figure out a way to do it, I will post my results.

USB Wi-Fi dongle will not work because it'll required drivers for app to be detected.

    What about this:

I don't think that would work for me, I do not have the Ethernet plug on the back of my network adapter. I have an aftermarket network/HD adapter and it doesn't have network capabilities.

Also, if I can get all the stuff needed for free mcboot onto a flash drive and move it from that to the memory card, I think i can find drivers to work a usb wifi dongle. Just an idea I have.

Actually SOME GAMES indeed support a USB modem!
    Games only though...

Edit: Btw.: That thing @jolek posted is actually a cool idea! THX for those who have an original SONY-NWA!

Multiple old games support it and it isn't a very specific type! Multiple USB-Modems were working AFAIR!

I don't know of any list of games, or devices.

    ☝️

    Try SOCOM with a USB-Modem...!

    Oh!
...and Sony seem to had a fable for Logitech! I ought to remember that this is the case here as well!

I wasn't asking for whole list!
You sad that "Multiple old games support it",
so I only wanted few examples!

When you mention SOCOM, you mean whole series or only first game:
    SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs?

You probably meant whole series. Thanks for this example.

Are you sure that Logitech made any USB modem?
I only found they made USB adapters\receivers for keyboard\mouse\gamepad.

Anyway I've notice that there was even some SLIM models with modem port for U/C:
