PS3 Developer Aldostools does it again with yet another impressive update to webMAN MOD (+ wM VSH menu), as we celebrate the 9th anniversary of the PS3. The homebrew dev has been detailing his progress and supplying the users in the forums here at psx-place.com with his latest update and progresses of this update in recent days. With this update a number of impressive features and changes have been applied to the plugin. The VSH Menu continues to evolve adding a fully functional File Manager and also a new Plugin Manager from the VSH Menu [break]ss[/break]. Which is a very cool feature to see added to wM VSH Menu by aldostools.. VSH Menu now uses http network interface to execute webMAN commands (it must be faster & some commands must be now compatible with vanilla edition)

Added option to browse URL on PS3 to the slider menu (mobile.html)

webMAN.xml now open the web pages using webKit, except "CPU & RSX temperatures" that uses silk mode.

Unmount & Insert Disc now auto-closes

In Lite Edition: Added: remove syscalls. Removed: fix game & support for fake isos generated by IRISMAN: ntfs[FILE]. Binary is now smaller.

Video Recording now can use custom settings for audio & video formats/size/bitrate.

Use R2+SELECT+L3 to change the settings values

Use L2+SELECT+L3 to choose the settings to be changed

Current recording video & audio formats now are displayed in the popup

The video & audio formats can be configured via /setup.ps3

Removed video_rec.sprx from updater

Added option to disable custom syscalls 200, 201, 203, 204 (ccapi) through syscall.ps3mapi.

Syscall 1022 (prx loader) is now disabled by [online] tag and R2+/\ combo.

SRC: Moved some files to cobra/unused

SRC: Changed 8 to constant SC_COBRA_SYSCALL8 in Cobra modules. So it can be changed easily to another syscall number in the future.

[BGM] toggler is now shown in /cpursx.ps3 if a game is running. (Only available in the test build. It may hang the console returning to XMB)

Test build: Added /sysbgm.ps3 and swap kernel (not included in the updater)

In a side note: I have been trying to add ntfs library to the project (to support FTP transfers to/from NTFS). But the project throws errors when I compile it. Maybe some dev could assist me in make it compile.

Now the question is: should I also add syscalls 200, 201, 203, 204 (ccapi) to the combo that disable the syscalls?

IMO they should be disabled too for safer access to PSN... but if I do it probably I'll have more haters than usual... especially the cheaters.

It's a test build of VSH Menu for webMAN 1.02...

What's new? It has a plugin manager and a file manger that let you browse the file system, mount files and folders, copy to/from hdd0/usb000 and delete files.

To delete files/folders use L2+SQUARE.... some files like .rco and coldboot are flashed directly, instead of copy them to usb0.

PS4 Homebrew Store (ALPHA) - Latest Update by LigthingMods
Developer @LigthingMods has released an update to the PlayStation 4 Homebrew Store App that is currently in the Alpha Stages of development. We have now seen several releases of this homebrew store and the functionality of delivering you a homebrew package (pkg's) works very well."Simply" select and download then boom the app installs the homebrew and is ready to use on your Homebrew Enabled PS4. So the foundation seems solid in terms of the functionality. However you must be warned the User -Interface could use a bit of work but we are sure the developer is aware of this and plans to make further improvements as we embark into the future. One of more annoying quirks you will find in the UI will be with navigation as homebrew is randomly listed and you must navigate pages of listing to find Homebrew. In this update there has been the inclusion of a search feature and in my honest opinion it can be a bit picky (if you do not know the exact name of the homebrew) also a pagejump does allow you to navigate any page on demand, but not the most ideal way of browsing the Homebrew contained in the store. A suggestion to help the browsing of pages would be to add some category listing's and even a newly released section . Now this update there has been plenty of changes/improvements for those changes lets take a look @ligthingmods take it from here with the release details for this huge update found below, also @MasterTurkey has a video showing a bit of the update also.

Update #3 for Orbital - An PS4 Emulator by @AlexAltea - now with DualShock 4 support!
Following up after his Milestone Update back in March, Developer @AlexAltea showcases his third Update from his PS4 Emulator Orbital, which now supports the inputs from an original DualShock 4 Controller together with a new and updated Presentation from the current Development Stages of his PS4 Emulator on his own YouTube-Channel (know with a higher Resolution and Quality ). Although the support isn't perfect (the keypress shows big delays on the PS4 while running in Safe Mode - but they are fixable), it is still nice to see how difficult it is to emulate a Console from the ground-up until running a playable Game, but also how much effort he takes to get this PS4 Emulator updated and running better and better. This is already worth some kudos, don't you think? And he has already plans for future updates, such as the possibility to allow a re-installation from the PS4 System Software via an USB Mass Storage Device. Running the Operating System from a emulated Console is always very important and a good basis to make some further work profitable. If this progress will keep so strong for the future, we think we can expect some great functions from that Emulator and for emulating a PS4 on a PC in General, what do you think?

webMAN MOD 1.47.21 - Improved support for PS3HEN with update by Aldostools
Following the recent updates to backup manager's (multiMAN / IRISMAN / ManaGunZ) to provide improved support for PS3HEN. A new update has been also provided for webMAN MOD by fork creator @aldostools, This turbo-charged PS3 plugin for PS3 CFW & PS3HEN user's has been updated to version 1.47.21, as PS3HEN evolves the plugin must adopt as well and improved support for PS3HEN should be seen in this update, along with some other improvements to the AIO plugin.   I don't know who made screenshots but leaving only one GB free on hdd is bad idea. Due to lack of free space all temp read write operations will be performed on this space, this kill disc sectors there much faster than usual. Also overall performance will be lower. EOT

  It's not mentioned anywhere... pressing in the Plugins Manager of VSH Menu will save a new /dev_hdd0/boot_plugins.txt with the plugins currently loaded (the ones listed in yellow).

  I don't know... that source code was not released. I used the original source code released on xmas and made the static parameters for video recording configurable.
  
  Btw the comment about cheaters is a bit old... 1.43.16 already allows to disable or keep the ccapi syscalls through the CCAPI setting in /setup.ps3.

  Thanks for an update, but when I use ps3mapi to disable syscalls, the ps3 freezes and just turn off by holding the power button, cfw habib cobra 4.76 and when using combination R2/\ everything perfect, psnpatch plugin not installed

  What is the correct way to install the VSH Menu Webman, I can not install simply pressing R1, I tried several times and always without success at the facility.
  
  What is the correct procedure to install this VSH menu and why I am not getting as before?
  
  Can anyone teach me or show how to install this manually menu? Where should I install the VSH file manually menu? Where to find this file? The file is this:

  That would be me, normally there is not that much on there, but been using my PS3 as a placeholder for some of my video collection as i swap and combine a few collections on multiple drives. I'm not worried only will be sitting on there for a small time.

  Try disabling scan content at start up... or try tweaking the waits for usb in /setup.ps3

  since I uninstalled the updater, it freeze the console when I'm trying to go to the Plugin Manager page. Maybe because it doesn't find enough .sprx to list or something like that.

  P.S.: I see you use many condition to manage the menu to display. Why not using a separated thread and frame as the example I provided? It's more clear and flexible I think.

  I agree the code is ugly and hard to follow... I plan to clean the code later... now the focus is to make the functions work
