again no fix for that idiotic singstar .l.
    6. Phil
Singstar is easy to remove you just delete an entry in a specific file but leave the file empty when I finish work ill let you know exactly how to do it as I know how much a pain it is

As my console don't suffer of acute SingStar-itis, I can't test the feature myself.
I included the feature because I have received mixed reports about it working and also not working.

Until a *verified* procedure about how to remove that "idiotic" icon is posted, I will leave that feature untouched.

This is the current method (if someone want to fix or improve it)

Not sure if this will help (you probably know this) or if you want to put any time into such a thing, But just incase it helps, if you do have any other xil items on your XMB, Like amazon video or Spotify, you could do tests using that categories files (TV or Music), and then if it works apply the same method to Game to get rid of singstar.

Just for confirmation, does someone have another way than editing NSXWSV-PN.P3.XX-XMB_COLUMN_GAME.xml to remove the Singstar icon?
If the Singstar section is removed from the xml file, Singstar does not come back on reboot...
      Is there à better way?
Should we remove other entries as well? Which ones?

Am taking care of this as I do suffer from acute Singstar-itis... [emoji6]

There is this other way but im sure you know that , removing the xil entry from the category game xml, the only disadvantages I can see are: its a flash mod, and it will stop MM singstar/stealth multiman from showing.
    12. Phil
That's how I've done it for years and never had a problem I just deleted the whole entry and saved the empty file and replaced with the original and singstar doesn't come back. If you just delete it it will come back the next time the xmb is loaded with an Internet connection

Wow @aldostools cant wait to try it :)

What is the swap.ps3 doing exactly ? I am curious but in a couple of hours I will try it myself.

Finally my PS3 is cured from that nasty 'Sinstar' disease thanks to wMM! May as well omit the 'g' in that name. lol
So as promised this morning I modified singstar.h to make the feature work, here is the new file in a zip archive as an attachment. Needless to say you can tweak the code as you see fit...

I successfully tested the code but on my system setup only obviously & the PSN region used for testing was "gb" (Great Britain of course).
It should work fine in other regions too though but it still requires some other users to test it in other regions & with other setups to be 100% sure.

Here is a download link to a wMM 1.45.00 Full Edition test build for people willing to help testing the Singstar feature for us before it gets included in the main source tree.
I remind users that this file is a TEST Build. It was only tested on a slim 250x with Rebug 4.80.1 so, as usual, use at your own risk..

      Steps to test:
      1. Install wMM 1.45.00 with Aldo's latest release first, configure the setup page. Make sure to enable the Remove Singstar icon feature & /dev_blind if your webftp_server.sprx is located on /dev_flash/vsh/module.
      2. Save the configuration changes.
      3. Replace the webftp_server.sprx file manually via ftp
      4. Reboot & the Singstar icon should now be gone.

I have a problem with the Remove Singstar Icon setting in the setup page.
The issue already existed in 1.43.3x, for me at least.
The Singstar checkbox stays checked no matter how much I try to uncheck it & save.
Obviously I ended up deleting wmconfig.bin & starting from scratch.
On 1st load the setup page shows the checkbox unchecked, the first time I tried thought the issue was fixed but as soon as I saved the configuration, the checkbox became checked again.
Is this normal? Have you set it up this way for some reason?
I have not yet looked at the source to try to understand why this is happening but I definitely will if ever you are not yet aware of the problem.

Bravo!! :xmashigh5: I was getting sick  of SingStar too..

Could you test if this code still work? It's based on your code with small modifications

The binary also has the setup/refresh icons of WM LaunchPad moved to the top. This change is not on github yet.

Please test also the checkbox in this build... it's not supposed to stay checked.
