Red Faction Guerrilla seems an interesting game to test overclocking with. Not only does it have an unlocked framerate, but it seems that any kind of overclocking instability will make this game shut down the PS3 as soon as the level loads. I thought my 2003A Slim was stable at 700/950, as I'd...
I tried about an hour of Revengeance without issue. As we're seeing in this thread, every PS3 is different. So this crash was with the FPS counter disabled? Manual fan?
I fixed these instability issues by disabling the FPS counter and changing fan from dynamic to 40% manual. Since doing that over a week ago, I've had no issues whatsoever - no three beep shutdowns and no freezes rebooting or starting/exiting games. I've even been able to put the VRAM back up to...
Thanks Mitsu™, I'd be grateful if you could make a 700/950 version at some point please.
Also, regarding the three beep instant shutdowns, do you have the FPS counter enabled, and what kind of fan setting do you use?
Three days ago I tried disabling the FPS counter and going from dynamic to...
This is three beeps and shutdown on a 2000 Slim, yes? Mine has done this a few times playing Skyrim at 700/900. I looked up the error code and it seems related to the dodgy capacitors in this model.
It's reassuring to know you also had that issue, at first I thought it was a bug with the beta firmware. I guess keeping hardware compatibility was the safe option, but it might have been nice to have a PS4 Pro-like boost mode. Would have been a good selling point I imagine.
Oh, I absolutely...
Hi everyone, I've signed up so I can post my results trying this amazing project.
My CECH-2003A (65nm RSX) is stable at 700/900.
750 GPU produced artifacts even on the XMB, but 700 is completely stable. 950 VRAM seemed stable at first, so I tried 1000 but that caused the XMB to consistently...
