Hmm that's interesting never had that issue with my CHECHL01 I hope you get to fix it!

Another symptom is that nothing happens like the cable is connected n stuff but the drive isn't taking in games nor even showing any sign of power

Okay so now it's giving me error cex_drive_init_sblock() failed and cex_drive_init failed

Also tried rebooting didn't work last night

So I tried it and it gives me error stg BDVD auto request sense off ERROR code =fffff3 and them CEX_Drive_init() failed

So after a while I recently had the time to finally repair my phat CECHL01 ps3 with the help of a bought goodwill phat ps3 same model by the way. So I replaced the blu ray ribbon cable for the drive connected it and such booted it up and nothing. I checked the wiring everything is fine even...

I have a CHECHL01 and never had problems with it and yeah the BD is sata a 32 pin cable but yes I also have that jet engine fan when turning on which is imo it doesn't bother me.
