the settings are not permanent in the firmware atleast not with my toshiba drive and i even tried an additional command for the apm. it works on pc i am pretty sure i heard the drive spin up when i send the command but its no use in the ps3. so i guess next step break open my seagate mobile hdd...

i use a 2504b model with a Toshiba MQ01ABD100 1tb running CEX COBRA EVILNAT 4.89. the hdd even stops ingame seemingly, sometimes stopping the backround music for example, or having a 1 second freeze. it cant be healthy for the hdd either right? on my pc i always had it disabled and my hdd there...
