I use SMB but should be able to setup a test for IGS with HDD or USB.
It is VERY game dependent though. So many games won't work with IGS.
As noted before you need to:
1) Enable GSM (I chose per-game NTSC). I don't think it is a good idea to get fancy with video modes so NTSC or PAL.
2) Insert...
I think this should get some attention:
Migrate to Smbv2 or Smbv3
As time goes by, the average user of OPL will be less and less capable of getting it to work over SMB, because operating systems and network attached storage are making it harder to select and configure SMBv1.
I replicated the problem and verified that the workaround (older FMCB version 1965, 12/8/2018) is fine. SCPH-90010 matrix v1.93. Set as BOOT1.ELF = OPL, BOOT2.ELF=HWC OSDSYS Launcher v1.0, BOOT3.ELF=uLaunchELF.
Actually the old bug caused it to show 16MB for all slims I have tested - SCPH-70012,75001,77001,90001. Just thought I'd mention, as it looks like Akuhak has backported (or created a new workaround to) your original fix for the problem in the latest test and it is reporting the proper 4MB now...
The DVD Rom shows correct 4MB on all three tests I did. However, the is one problem for output "DVD Player" that I see for SCPH-50001 and SCPH-50001N (I tested on these two units plus the SCPH-90001 v230). This is a recent change in behavior for these test versions. Here is the result from...
Actually on Slims (at least SCPH-70012,75001,77001,90001 that I have tested with), the DVD rom file size output was 16MB for as long as I can remember from this tool. I will have to go back to older versions of ps2ident to verify. I pretty sure that this is an old bug.
EDIT - ps2ident v830 has...
It appears to be working now. Attached are log files from same SCPH-90001 v2.30 and a recent acquisition SCPH-50001/N.
If from the logs you think this is working correctly I can spend time this weekend with this version getting updated log files for you.
Thanks!
I used a different flash drive on both PS2s with the same resultant error. When dumping it shows the DVD ROM as 1 byte. I scanned the new flash drive and the old flash drive and no errors were found. If you are unable to replicate error, is someone else here willing to run this version and...
Thanks for attaching in thread. I used this version (dec-08) and it had errors associated with the DVD player detection and dumping. You can see it in the attached two tests. It also notes the roms are unclean because of this.
Here are some SCPH-39001,SCPH-50001,and SCPH-90001 entries. I have two more SCPH-90001 but have to connect up and run ps2ident. At the top of the post you have a ps2ident MID version from November pasted. If you have a newer version, could you post there?
Would belek666 be a possible invite to the ps2homebrew github given his work with OPL (and noting that other non-OPL projects were listed there, like SMS to which he has also contributed updates for compatiblity with newer ps2sdk)?
Edited to clarify relevance to this thread.
