PS4 PSA: Alternative Solutions for Consistent On-Board NOR Read/Writes

Hi, For those whom are not able to get consistent NOR dumps on-board, I have found a few alternative solutions. Three of the alternatives are to lower Vcc even further! Powering-up (3.3V) the NOR/S-Flash while the chip is still soldered on-board the PS4 would also power-up other chips. Some of...

@Berion, is there a thread/guide somewhere which shows the process of only backing-up the system_a/b partitions?

PS4 [Question] HDD, NOR, and Syscon Backups - Console Restore?

To answer my own question, yes you can. I have a fat 8.50/8.03 (active/inactive) unit which I backed-up all three of syscon, sflash (NOR) and HDD (I'll refer to them as the trio). Then I updated (USB) this PS4 to FW 9.00/8.50. Power-cycled and all. Then I took a back-up of the 9.00/8.50 trio...

PS4 [Question] PS4 NOR Chip Swap

To answer my own question, yes you can. I purchased some new/blank MX25L25635FMI-10G serial NOR Flash chips. I dumped the binary image from the original NOR chip, and programmed the binary image onto the new/blank NOR chip. Replaced the original NOR chip with the clone NOR chip. The PS4...

PS4 [Question] HDD, NOR, and Syscon Backups - Console Restore?

Hi, I have a backup of the HDD, NOR (sflash) and syscon chip from a fat PS4 with FW 8.50/8.03 (Active/Inactive). Case #1 Say I update to 10.0 (USB). So now I'm at 10.00/8.50 (Active/Inactive). I am aware that I can revert (old or newer revert method) to FW 8.50. Then, I would have the option...

PS4 [PSA] PS4 Wee Tools (v0.9.x) SPIWay Diagram Mistakes

Hi, Is Andy Man (aka Andy_maN or AndyManDev) a member on this forum? Their v0.9.0 and v0.9.5 releases of PS4 Wee Tools on GitHub have a couple of mistakes. Nevertheless, it's a great tool! The “Convert 5v to 2.8-3.3v” section in the middle of the...

PS4 [Question] PS4 NOR Chip Swap

Hi, According to the older FW revert method (for PS4 models which support syscon glitch) one can swap the original syscon chip with a new/blank syscon chip, after having written the original syscon binary dump to the new/blank syscon chip. Can the same be done with the NOR chip...

So, I re-downloaded one of the 3 pkgs again. So now I have 4 folders in VSH (with two being of the same pkg). PKGI crashed on exit. Hard-reboot. Now I see all 4 pkg (with two of the same pkg) to be installed from withing the PSN Content folder (Under package manager)

    PS3 PKGi PS3 v1.2.2 released

@buacanero After completing 3 downloads, pgki crashed on exits. I can see from the log that all 3 download folders where moved, [2020-05-31 04:09:31] move (/dev_hdd0/tmp/pkgi/N*.pkg) -> (/dev_hdd0/vsh/game_pkg/80000004/N*.pkg) However, since pkgi crashed on exit, after a hard reboot, the 3...

    PS3 PKGi PS3 v1.2.2 released

@bucanero I removed the original EBOOT.BIN and I placed the debug EBOOT.bin in /dev_hdd0/game/NP00PKGI3/USDIR/. I managed to get the pkgi to launch and crash a few times. But I don't see /dev_hdd0/tmp/pkgi.log. Nor in /dev_hdd0/tmp/pkgi/. Is there some setting I need to change? Also, for the...
