Ok folks, just to give you feedback. I ended up buying a new/old CECH-2024A PS3 with 4.80 OFW. I installed Evilnat 4.90 along with WebmanMod 1.45 and PS2 games play like a charm again. Many thanks for your support.

I tried to insert a PS4 game disc, the drive is not even trying to pull in the disc as I would expect. I will try to find an original PS3 game disc in some of those second hand game shops, just to be 100% sure.
