Installed it last night. So far, so good.
A couple of minor things that happened, not sure if they are common:
1. After the update was applied, it forced a Rebuild Database, and after that I had a "corrupted data" show up on the XMB under the game section. Looked in the game folder on the PS3...
Stupid question:
I'm still on 4.81 CFW. If I update to this, do I need to update Multiman 4.81 with it? I checked for update in Multiman and it lists 0.00 as the latest version, and the only updates it shows is that it asks for donations through Paypal? WTF?
Nobody here is confused. People are reporting their experiences. That is helpful to the development. Please stop discouraging devs by badgering them with this.
One minor regression in Prosystem - the patch that was uploaded about a month ago to fix the Double Dragon sprite and color hack RC7b appears to be missing here, as it's back to being non-playable. It black screens, but you can get back to the Retro Arch menu with R3+L3.
Patch described here...
Yeah - whatever is different between Ezio's compile environment and the Buildbot compilier for PS3 needs to be rectified. Ezio's compiles were perfect, but we all understand everyone has real life and time constraints.
Though - I do have the 02/25 nightly for Prosystem 1.7.1 in my cores folder...
Yeah, That's been confirmed on the Libretro forums, the Ferrox 4.82 CFWs are incompatible with all versions of RetroArch except 1.0.0.2, which is ancient.
Actually, nightlies were the only reason I was able to fix a number of problems in the source for prosystem (atari 7800). Nightlies are essential to a healthy software development lifecycle. Nobody is required to download them, it is entirely optional. If someone has an issue with a nightly...
Actually, this information is mostly incorrect, as of mid-February 2018. Buildbot (from the official Retroarch site) stopped hosting stable and nightly builds of PS3 on Feb 25th. Now when you go there, it points you to a link for x-bins.org, which has a bunch of really old versions of Retroarch...
Everything seems to be working great... except shaders. I normally use CRT CGWG fast, which is a simple single pass shader. It works fine in 1.6.3. No shaders at all in 1.6.7.
Thanks for the link, I have the samples, but they don't work. I'm trying to figure out whether this is an issue with Retroarch for the PS3 only. the samples work in Retroarch for Windows.
Edit: never mind. I had them in the wrong folder. They're working fine now.
