    PS3 Blu-ray remarry issue

How did u get on with this, was there a fix so the remarry process can work again??

Broken ps3 that’s not even turning on.

You have a short on the motherboard, u will need to send it in for repairs so they can find it. The repair shops should have done a syscon error check and given u all this info if it was done correctly. If not find someone else that will and can do the correct procedures from the start.

    PS3 Blu-ray remarry issue

Can confirm its an issue with evilnats 4.90 i was getting the same error using the remarry process, all discs would read and play fine except ps3 discs once back on OFW, if u stayed on CFW they worked fine. I did the same work around and used 4.85.1 rebug lite and it fixed the problem. For...

    PS3 (Research/Experimental) - NEC/TOKIN Capacitors Replacement - YLOD

short answer is ur soldering iron isnt good enough to heat the larger grounding areas which is acting like a large heat soak. as above mentioned its the only other way around it but if u still have issues its ur iron and u need more heat to soak into the board for the solder to liquefy better...

Clearly not if u are only following this thread.

    PS3 (Research/Experimental) - NEC/TOKIN Capacitors Replacement - YLOD

Was there a middle ground while testing when u added more tant caps? using 11 caps on each BGA would have brought the total to 5170uF which should have been more than enough so curious to know if u tested in between when adding more caps? assuming u still have bad tokin caps on board since u...

Do this and post ur results in that thread, it will at least give u a better idea of where the fault/s could be. https://www.psx-place.com/threads/fault-finding-ylod-with-the-syscon-first-steps-and-error-reporting.30100/

Almost certain squeept and many others have already touched on this at the early stages in the thread so he would just be repeating himself really.

    PS3HEN PS3 CECHB00 HEN3.0.1 CPU

Set 2 will more than likely need a new laser Set 3 mayb the same but 1st try cleaning the lenses both on top and under it and see if theres any improvements as this can often help. U can use a 5V source briefly on the lasers diodes pin outs to temporary see if the lasers both emits the blu-ray...

    Scratched CELL... a new hope?

As above but if ur capable of swapping the CPU with the correct tools and machine, replacing the paired syscon and NAND/NOR chips will be a walk in the park pretty much. Its just time consuming and will cost a fair bit if u dont do it urself, thats pretty much what it boils down to.

    CECHC04 (almost) instant overheating

If the A unit u used the Heat sink from worked fine use the same IHS from that system. Do u have a straight edge u can use to put on the original heat sink and the IHS?? if so use that and see if u can find any concave spots on both. IHS's are not always 100% flat this is another reason why...

    RSX/Reballing question

As long as the 1st 4 numbers are the same yes its safe to use those other versions u mentioned. There is a simple Ohms test u can try on the BGA to see if its in OK specs but that doesn't give 100% guarantee still, tho if its out of spec then at least u know it wont work. The thing with Ebay is...

    PS3 (Research/Experimental) - NEC/TOKIN Capacitors Replacement - YLOD

I think we need an older type of down grader to chime in here, (Might need to post in another section so the question doesn't get lost?). I recall when i was 1st learning to down grade with hardware this tristate trick wouldn't work with NANDs, i cant tell u the reason why not since its been so...
