PS5 can i use the added internal ssd as external without it being reformated by the PS5?

does anyone know if i can remove the added internal nvme ssd storage, put it in an external case and use it as an external on the PS5 without the PS5 having to reformat the drive?

i am on vacation and where i am right now the ssd's are a lot cheaper than where i live and i like to upgrade the ssd with a bigger one and put the new one inside the PS5. since i am on vacation i have no access to my PS5 to try and i would like to avoid having to reformat the ssd to an "external" and having to download everything anew.
 
You cannot. Internal (actually two internal: soldered to MOBO and via M.2) and external storage (PS4ES) using different logic structure. So all 3 are different and also encrypting stuff differently.
